There’s something pretty special about making your own herbal infusions.

This beautiful ruby-red oil is my freshly made St. John’s Wort Infused Oil. The rich colour you see is completely natural and develops as the plant’s constituents infuse into the carrier oil.

St. John’s Wort has a long history of traditional use in herbal preparations, particularly in topical oils and balms. I love being able to start with simple botanicals and slowly transform them into an ingredient that can become part of my handcrafted creations.

This batch will now become one of the beautiful herbal ingredients I keep on hand for future Hummingbird Organics products.

Made slowly. Made intentionally. Made from the roots up, and the inside out.

Days like today make my heart happy.

There’s just something so rewarding about growing your own food, tending to it all season, watching it grow, and finally getting to enjoy the fruits of all that labour.

Today, that meant a big batch of homemade salsa. 🫑🌶️🍅🧅🧄

A lot of work goes into growing, harvesting, preparing and preserving our own food, but when you see those jars lined up at the end of the day, it’s all worth it.

Homegrown, homemade, and made with love. It really doesn’t get much better than that.

Our handcrafted Fire Cider is officially back in stock at Hummingbird Organics.

Fire Cider is a traditional herbal tonic made by slowly infusing apple cider vinegar with a bold combination of roots, herbs, citrus and warming spices, then finishing it with raw honey.

Traditionally used as part of a seasonal wellness routine, Fire Cider is especially popular during the fall and winter months. Its warming, tangy and slightly spicy flavour makes it an easy addition to your daily routine when cold and flu season arrives.

Our Fire Cider is made in small batches using real, recognizable ingredients rather than artificial flavours or unnecessary additives.

Take it by the spoonful, dilute it in a little warm water, add it to tea, or even incorporate it into salad dressings and other foods.

Because Fire Cider requires time to properly infuse before it can be strained, finished and bottled, each batch is limited. Once the current stock is gone, there may be a wait before the next batch is ready.
