Lash Artisan
Built behind the chair since 2011. Professional lash products, artistry education + real business systems for beauty professionals. Hi! Thank you for being here.
This season: build stronger before the year ends. Lash Business Hackathon now open. Welcome to my world of lashes and brows. I'm Michelle, the passionate creator behind Lash Artisan. I'm also a proud mom of five amazing humans and a grandma to 1 grandson. Life took an unexpected turn for me when I became a teen mom at the age of 15. It was a defining moment that shaped my journey and fuelled my determination to carve out a path for myself. And I found it in the beauty world! For over a decade, I've immersed myself in the world of lashes and brows, specializing in the art of lashes. As a lash artist, I've had the privilege of running my own studio, where I've witnessed first-hand what truly resonates with our incredible clients. Driven by a strong passion to succeed, my vision became crystal clear: I want to help YOU experience that same feeling of utter fulfillment. Whether you're a lash newbie, a seasoned pro, or someone in-between, I'm here to meet you wherever you are on your lash journey. I pour my heart and soul into every product I bring to life, ensuring that each one reflects the values of what I have always wanted to provide our clients in studio. From stunning lashes and brows to innovative lash tool solutions, Lash Artisan is here to empower you to embrace your lash skills and create your best lash life. I look forward to always listening to your thoughts, feedback and ideas. xoxo Michelle
You can appreciate every client who helped you start and still change your prices. Gratitude does not require you to keep your business at the beginning forever.
Sincerely,
Lash Artisan

IF EVERYTHING IS IN YOUR HEAD, THE BUSINESS CANNOT SUPPORT YOU.
You may know how to answer inquiries, prepare appointments, handle cancellations and follow up with clients.
The problem is that you have to remember every step every time.
Writing the process down creates consistency and gives your mind less to carry.
Choose one task you repeat every week and document the steps today.
This is how we slowly move the business out of our heads and into a system.

Stop Solving the Wrong Problem
A lot of expensive business decisions happen because we solve the wrong problem.
The calendar is empty, so we lower the price.
Retention is poor, so we spend more on ads.
Bookings are confusing, so we add another piece of software.
Profit feels low, so we decide we need more clients.
Before choosing the solution, I would spend more time identifying the actual problem.
Ask yourself, “What evidence do I have that this is the problem?”
That one question can stop a lot of reactive decisions.
Sometimes you do need more clients. Sometimes you do need to change a price. Sometimes you do need a different system.
But diagnosis should come before implementation.
That is actually the thinking behind our FREE Business Checkup. It helps you look at different areas of the business before deciding what needs your attention. We also have a FREE Service Pricing Calculator and deeper guides and resources once you know what you need to work on.

YOU MAY NOT NEED MORE NEW CLIENTS YET.
Sometimes the first opportunity is taking better care of the clients who have already trusted you.
Look at how many clients rebook, how often they return and whether you follow up when they disappear.
New clients help the business grow. Returning clients help the business become stable.
Before spending more money trying to attract new people, ask whether your current clients have a clear reason and process to return.

The Service Is Only Part of the Business
After years behind the chair, one thing has become very clear to me.
Being excellent at the service matters tremendously, but the service is only one part of the business.
Beautiful work can get someone's attention.
The experience can make her want to return.
Your systems can make the business easier to operate.
Your pricing can determine whether all of that work actually makes financial sense.
And your policies can protect the time the business depends on.
Eventually you realize that the service is what you perform, but the business is everything you build around it.
That is exactly why so much of what we teach now goes beyond technique.
If you want to start looking at the business behind your services, grab our FREE Business Checkup and FREE Service Pricing Calculator. When you are ready to go deeper, our business guides and resources are there too.

Artists, one of the biggest mistakes you can make when building your clientele is expecting someone or something else to build the relationship with your clients for you.
Use AI. Use automations. Use systems. Let them make the backend of your business easier.
But don’t outsource the human part.
Customer service is one of the biggest touch points we focus on in our studio. Remember why she booked. Remember what she told you at her last appointment. Ask about the thing she mentioned three weeks ago. Listen to what she actually wants.
That is how rapport is built.
Especially when you are starting out, your biggest advantage isn’t AI. It’s you.
Let AI run more of the backend so you can be more present with the person in your chair.
Comment FOUNDING if you want to build the business behind the skill.
THE CLIENT EXPERIENCE DOES NOT END WHEN THE APPOINTMENT ENDS.
Does your client know when to return?
Did they receive aftercare instructions?
Were they invited to book their next appointment?
Will they hear from you again if they forget?
A strong client experience includes what happens before, during and after the service.
Choose one part of your follow up process to improve today. Small changes can make returning feel easier for the client.

You Don't Need Every Client
One of the things that becomes clearer the longer you run a service business is that you do not need every client.
The goal is not to convince every person who discovers you to book.
Your pricing, policies, service style, availability and experience will naturally be a better fit for some people than others.
And that is okay.
Trying to make the business work for absolutely everyone usually creates a business that is exhausting to operate.
The better question is, “Who is this business designed to serve really well?”
When you know that, your marketing gets clearer, your boundaries get easier and the client experience becomes more consistent.
If you are still figuring out what needs to change inside your business, start with our FREE Business Checkup. You can also grab our FREE Service Pricing Calculator and explore our deeper business resources.
