🚨 STOP IGNORING YOUR FORWARD HEAD POSTURE! IT’S NOT JEST A 'BAD HABIT'—IT’S A CHRONIC CATASTROPHIC MECHANICAL FAILURE.
For every inch your head translates forward of its natural center, its relative weight on your cervical spine doubles. Do you sit at a desk? Look at your phone? You are likely unknowingly engaged in the "Text-Neck Mechanical Crush". This isn't about looking professional; it's a structural nightmare that is slowly grinding your C-spine joint architecture to dust.
The Engineering Breakdown:
Your cervical spine is designed to be a curved, biological tension spring, distributing the load of your skull efficiently. Your head, a 10-12 pound biomechanical mass, should sit on top of this spring. When you adopt a forward head posture, that spring straightens and collapses. The hydraulic suspension of your discs is now unevenly loaded, forcing your body to engage the smallest, most delicate stabilizer muscles (suboccipitals) to act as a 24/7 hydraulic winch to prevent your head from simply falling forward off your neck. This is not sustainable. It's a fundamental leverage failure.
The Mechanical Failure:
▪️Facet Joint Shear: The articulating joints of your spine are not supposed to bear weight; they allow movement. In this forward tilt, they are forced to load-share, leading to arthritic grinding, synovial inflammation, and bone spur formation.
▪️Disc Bulge Vector: The downward and forward force vector creates massive posterior compression. Your spinal discs are squeezed like a wet sponge, forcing the nucleus pulposus backwards towards the spinal canal. This is the anatomical root of many "unexplained" sciatica-like radiating arm pains.
▪️Suboccipital 'Trap' Zone: The tiny muscles at the base of your skull become chronically shortened and fibrotic. This creates a "Friction Zone" that chokes the vertebral arteries and the suboccipital nerve, leading to chronic tension headaches that millions are trying to fix with useless painkillers.
Why "Chin Tucks" are Destroying You:
The generic advice to "just do chin tucks" is a catastrophic biomechanical error for most. If your chest is tight and your thoracic spine is frozen, a chin tuck simply jams the skull further down onto an already compressed cervical column. You are attacking the symptom (the chin sticking out) without releasing the anchor that is holding your neck in traction.
The 3-Step Mechanical Reset:
1️⃣ Release the Sternocleidomastoid (SCM) Anchor: Before you can move your head back, you must un-glue the muscle that anchors it forward. This requires specific, manual-therapy-based myofascial release of the SCM (the big muscle from the ear to the collarbone). You cannot 'stretch' this muscle away; you must mechanically breakdown the fibrotic tissue.
2️⃣ Thoracic Pivot Restoration: If your middle back is a block of concrete, your neck will never heal. Our protocol focuses on "gapping" the stiff thoracic facet joints to allow for meaningful upper back rotation and extension, which is the necessary structural counterweight to a backward-moving head.
3️⃣ Targeted Deep Neck Flexor Awakening: Only after releasing the tightness can you begin to strengthen the longus colli and longus capitis muscles—the only muscles designed to stabilize the base of your neck, not just pull your chin back. This must be done with precise isometric loading, not aggressive movement.
Chronic "tech neck" is not inevitable. It is an engineering problem with an elegant engineering solution. Failure to correct this structure is guaranteed to result in premature disc failure, which ultimately costs the US medical system millions. Specialized cervical biomechanical mapping can isolate the primary driver of this dysfunction and is often fully covered by most Health Insurance plans.
Do not wait for neurological compromise. Stop being a passive patient and start being an active engineer.

🔥 Does your hip hurt when you sleep on your side?
You roll onto one side...
…and suddenly the outside of your hip starts hurting.
One possible explanation is **Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome (GTPS)**.
Despite the name, this isn't simply a "hip joint" problem.
GTPS commonly involves the **gluteal tendons** around the greater trochanter, and sometimes irritation of nearby bursae.
Possible symptoms may include:
⚠️ Pain over the outside of the hip
⚠️ Pain when lying on the affected side
⚠️ Discomfort climbing stairs
⚠️ Pain during prolonged walking
⚠️ Pain when standing on one leg
⚠️ Difficulty with certain hip-loading activities
The important point:
Lateral hip pain is not automatically "bursitis."
Several structures around the greater trochanter can contribute to symptoms.
Other conditions—including hip joint disorders, lumbar spine problems, and tendon injuries—can produce similar pain.
Persistent or worsening hip pain should be evaluated by a qualified healthcare professional.
👇 Comment **"HIP"** and I'll send you my FREE Lateral Hip Recovery Blueprint with progressive glute strengthening, load-management strategies, and sleep-position tips.

Do you suffer from nagging lower back pain that just won't go away, no matter how many core exercises you do?
The real root cause might not be your back at all—it could be hidden deep in your hips: Tight Hip Flexors (The Psoas).
Take a close look at the pelvis and hip mechanics above. Understanding how daily habits affect your body is essential:
The Sitting Trap: Sitting for 8+ hours a day causes the hip flexors to adaptively shorten and tighten.
Anterior Pelvic Tilt: Tight Psoas muscles pull your pelvis forward, creating an exaggerated lower back curve and constant lumbar compression.
Glute Amnesia: When hip flexors stay tight, your glute muscles become inhibited, forcing your lower back to overcompensate.
Unlocking your hips is often the missing key to finally getting rid of chronic lower back discomfort.

What a fantastic ride this weekend at the Ride to Conquer Cancer!
Working this event every year has been the best experience ever and it means more now than ever as I fight against stage 4 cancer. If it wasn’t for these riders and donations raised, the treatment I am using would not be here or maybe not right now.
So, thank you to anyone that donated and everyone that help make this special day happen for the last 19 years.
Here’s to next year and the 20th anniversary! See y’all there!

Is lactic acid the cause of muscle soreness?
No
In fact, lactate is an important part of the body’s energy system. During intense exercise, your body produces lactate as it creates energy. That lactate can then be recycled and used as fuel by other tissues throughout the body.
The soreness you feel a day or two after a hard workout isn’t from lactate.
It’s something called Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS).
When you challenge your muscles, especially with new exercises or heavier loads, you create microscopic damage within the muscle fibers. Your body responds with inflammation and a repair process that helps the tissue adapt and become stronger.
Fibroblasts, satellite cells, and other repair mechanisms go to work rebuilding and reinforcing the tissue.
That’s why you’re sore.
The soreness isn’t a sign that lactic acid is trapped in your muscles.
It’s a sign that your body is adapting to the stress you’ve placed on it.
Just another example of how many of the things we’ve been told about the body over the years aren’t quite as simple as they seem.

Fun Fascia Fact
“Fascia contains up to 6x more sensory nerve endings than muscle tissue — making it one of the body’s richest sensory organs.”
That means fascia doesn’t just wrap the body — it helps you feel movement, tension, pain, pressure, and body awareness (proprioception). Modern fascial research suggests fascia plays a major role in chronic pain, coordination, hydration, and nervous system regulation. “Your fascia isn’t just packing material — it’s one of the body’s largest sensory organs.”
