Stay limber my friends.

Doing hard s**t now, is hard. Not doing it now, is harder.

I went to the zoo today with my mom, wife, and child. These were the thoughts that came over me during my practice. Thanks chat gpt for story editing. Without you it would have come out as , "handstand fun."

Are you naturally really flexible?

That may be hypermobility - having more movement available at your joints than most people.

Having extra flexibility isn't necessarily a bad thing. But sometimes, you have more range than you have the strength and body awareness to control.

Instead of always trying to stretch further, focus on getting stronger and more in control of the range you already have.

You don't need less movement.

You need to own the movement you have.

More range is great. More control is better.

What if stiff was optional?

Getting older doesn’t automatically mean becoming stiff, restricted, or uncomfortable.

Your movement capacity is adaptable.

The problem is that change rarely happens from one big mobility session. It happens through small things you do consistently.

A few minutes of intentional movement today might not feel like much.

But do it again tomorrow.
And next week.
And next month.

Those small inputs start to compound.

Your body gets more exposure to positions you previously avoided. You develop more control. You build strength in positions that once felt unfamiliar.

THE BALL IS A TOOL. HOW YOU USE IT MATTERS.

A therapy ball can be an incredibly effective tool for exploring mobility, changing how you experience a movement, and preparing your body to access range.

But simply putting a ball on a tight spot isn’t the whole story.

The real value comes from blending soft-tissue work with movement.

At the Mobility Masterclass, we’ll explore how to use therapy balls with intention—then integrate that work into active movement, mobility and strength.

You’ll learn how to:

• Use the ball to explore areas of restriction
• Apply pressure appropriately without simply chasing sensation
• Use breathing and nervous-system regulation to influence movement
• Follow soft-tissue work with active mobility
• Build control and strength into newly accessible ranges
• Turn passive changes into something you can actually use

The goal isn’t just to feel looser for a few minutes.

It’s to understand how input → movement → control can work together.

5 Benefits of CARs (Controlled Articular Rotations)

CARs are slow, controlled movements through your available joint range. They’re not just a warm-up, they’re a way to actively explore and train your joint capacity.

1. Improve joint awareness
Learn where your joint can move and where you may be limited.

2. Build active range of motion
Instead of simply being placed into a stretch, you actively control the movement.

3. Improve joint control
CARs challenge your ability to move smoothly and deliberately through your available range.

4. Identify movement restrictions
Slow, controlled rotations can help highlight areas of stiffness, asymmetry, or poor control.

5. Maintain joint health
Regular movement through a joint’s available range helps keep movement capacity in the picture as you train and age.

Try these hip CARs slowly. Make the biggest circle you can without compensating through your spine, pelvis or opposite leg.

Control the movement. Explore the range. Build the capacity.

SKIN IN THE GAME.

One thing that has shaped my practice more than anything is the idea that you can't just learn about movement — you have to experience it.

I started with yoga.

Then strength training. Mobility. FRC. Kinstretch. Massage therapy. And everything in between.

Each one has taught me something different about how the body moves and adapts.

The anatomy might be the same, but the experience isn't.

Knowing what a position feels like in your own body gives you another level of understanding when you're working with someone else.

That’s how I’ve tried to build my practice:

Learn from people smarter than me.
Experiment.
Get the reps.
Keep learning.
Then share what works.

That’s RMT Lab.

Your Body Doesn't Need More Punishment.

Mobility shouldn't feel like a battle.

You don't need to force yourself into a stretch until it hurts. You don't need to smash every tight spot with a foam roller. And you don't need to spend 30 minutes trying to “fix” your body.

More intensity isn't always the answer.

Good mobility work is about understanding what your body needs, creating space, exploring range, and then teaching your body how to own that range.

In the Mobility Masterclass, we'll explore how to use simple tools like therapy balls alongside controlled movement to:

→ Release tension
→ Improve range of motion
→ Explore your end ranges
→ Build control and strength
→ Turn temporary relief into lasting movement

Less forcing. More awareness. More control.

Your body isn't something you need to fight.

Learn how to work with it.
