Let the countdown begin!

POTENTIAL POSTAL STRIKE ~ next week Canada Post could once again go on strike as soon as May 22.

To prevent orders getting stuck in the system if a strike does happen, we'll begin using other courier services as of today/May 15.

Additionally, service to countries outside Canada & US is suspended until the postal situation is settled.

For now, all packages will be going out via courier (same one we used during the holiday season strike late last year). First drop-off with them will be Tuesday May 20th.

US addresses within continental US (incl Hawaii/Alaska) are all good.

Within Canada: our temporary courier service cannot deliver to Canadian PO Boxes or to areas outside major metro regions (incl island or remote addresses). If you're unsure, reach out and we can check if we can send to your address or not.

I have checked all outstanding order addresses and everyone with an open order is in-range for the courier. You'll all be getting tracking info b/w now and Tuesday when orders will be taken to the courier (after the long weekend/they're not open Monday).

Apologies to everyone outside Canada and US. I'm hoping, one way or another, to reopen shipping to you soon.

Wow! I just wanted to take a sec today to say thank you, so so much, to you all. Lots of stuff sold fully out this weekend, much more than I anticipated might.

Started the weekend with a few things in low stock status, figured maybe a some might run out, but right now it's more than half of the current lineup totally out of stock!

Restocking during December is only a maybe still. Focus is on getting through the shipping queue and on the bath/body drop this Friday for -- but if I can get some things restocked I will!

We've got the new restock notification feature, though, so if there's something you're looking for that's out, you can sign up for a notification when it's back and be first in line!

Wishlists are also activated, if you want to make a future order shopping list.

Next release won't be until the V Day collection in January, but there will be a studio overstock sale after Christmas, including perfume oils as well as whatever bath/body items are left after this weekend. Might be a few bottles of unreleased prototypes too! Mailing list will get the leftovers sale list first, before it's posted anywhere else!

After the virtual Darksome Art & Craft Market this weekend, shop will close from Dec 4 until after Christmas, to focus on holiday order fulfillment, year-end inventory prep, and some much needed reworking of some stuff on the website.

Next up is the bath body release on Friday -- teasers coming soon for the two new products!

This tarot card, the Ace of Fire (Wands) from , was the inspiration for the fragrance Rose Moon: Charred cedar, bonfires, marshmallow and a single long-stem red rose.

I picked up this previously indie deck when it went mainstream and this card kept popping up again and again for me. It looked like it would smell amazing with the red rose, bonfire, and what I assume to be cedar log cabins in the background. I added a bit of marshmallow sweetness, because who doesn't love marshmallows toasted over a fire?

Available in all sizes, currently the entire monthly Moon series is limited edition, but a number will join the permanent catalog soon! What Moon scents would you like to see stick around for good? 🌹🌛🔥

A realistic atmospheric with a tasty twist! The damp soil of a misty churchyard married with notes of fudgey dark chocolate, while precious resins of myrrh and frankincense mingle with black honey and rich golden amber. Slowly decaying cedarwood, traces of spongy moss and the damp air of a long closed up chapel give a soft foundation for the other notes to rest on.

While researching some of the olfactory aspects of rich, black, humus-y soil, I came across more and more information about the role of soil as a key part of the health and wellbeing of both the human race and the planet, which in turn led me to the work being done by the Soil Conservation Council of Canada.

15% of proceeds from sales of all full size (4ml & 10ml) bottles of Hallowed Ground from Sep 15th launch through the end of October will be donated to the Soil Conservation Council of Canada-- if you wish to make a donation directly or just want more information on the work they do, head to: soilcc.ca

Important Shop News:

After sale ends Tues PM, online shop will be closing for few weeks. I'll be out of the country for a little while dealing with a family matter. Return/reopening date TBD (likely sometime in June).

Spring release is cancelled. Summer is still on, dates TBA. Holiday trio will retire @ shop closure on Tues & return next holiday season.

This topic has unfortunately been on my mind more lately. I've never used the term "Oriental' in the PULP scent descriptions and never will. I see no benefit in using an outmoded term with connotations highly offensive to many, although many otherwise well-respected members of the perfume community do use it.

It is still very prevalent in the mainstream and even niche fragrance worlds, though it does seem to have phased out over the last couple of years with some indies and indie fans.

No time like the present, though, for the perfume community to take the overdue step of removing the word from use.
