Two spicule peels. Real skin. Real, gradual progress.

This client came to me with concerns about recurring breakouts, post-acne pigmentation and uneven texture.

After two spicule treatments, we can see:

• visible fading of some post-acne marks
• a more even-looking skin tone
• a calmer overall complexion
• early improvement in the appearance of texture

There are still active areas—and I think that’s important to show.

Skin doesn’t change in a perfectly straight line. New breakouts can appear while older marks are fading, and deeper textural scarring takes time. The goal isn’t to promise perfect skin after one or two appointments. It’s to create steady, visible improvement with a treatment plan that makes sense for the person’s skin.

A spicule peel, sometimes called liquid microneedling, uses microscopic freshwater sponge spicules to create controlled stimulation and support the skin’s natural renewal process.

Results will vary, and suitability should always be determined according to your skin condition, history and goals.

Spicule Peel appointments are currently $100.

If you’re in Toronto and wondering whether this treatment could be suitable for your post-acne marks or uneven texture, DM me the word SPICULE and tell me what you’ve been noticing in your skin.

Not all skin responds to treatment in the same way and skin tone alone doesn’t tell us everything.

The Fitzpatrick Scale is one of the tools professionals use to understand how someone’s skin may respond to sun exposure, inflammation and certain corrective treatments.

Why does this matter?

Because procedures that create heat, exfoliation or controlled inflammation need to be selected and adjusted carefully. This is especially important for skin that may be more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

But the Fitzpatrick Scale is only one part of the consultation. Your current skin condition, sensitivities, medications, treatment history, home care and goals all matter too.

Good treatment planning isn’t about choosing what’s trending. It’s about choosing what makes sense for your skin.

Save this post for your next skin consultation—or send it to someone who is considering a more advanced treatment.

The moment you can finally slow down and let someone take care of you 🤍

Every facial begins with a thorough cleanse—removing makeup, sunscreen and buildup while preparing the skin for everything that follows.

Sometimes, a fresh start is exactly what your skin needs ✨

After all the summer fun.. Sometimes, all you need is a facial ✨

September is here, and peel season is just around the corner—one of my favourite times to focus on refreshing the skin after summer and preparing it for the cooler months ahead.

I’ve been a little quiet here lately, but I’m looking forward to sharing more treatments, skincare tips, and behind-the-scenes moments from the treatment room.

Here’s to a fresh start for fall 🤍

I don’t bring new treatments into my studio lightly.
I research, question, and look for what’s safe for all skin types while still delivering real results — and that’s exactly what liquid microneedling with freshwater sponge spicules can do.

👀The results speak for themselves… and this is after one treatment.

This carousel highlights a next- generation treatment that is designed to stimulate cellular renewal, improve texture, improve hyperpigmentation and address acne scarring — including box scars and ice pick scars — in a controlled, skin-safe way.

🧬 Spicules are microscopic structures derived from freshwater sponges that pe*****te the epidermis and create thousands of micro-channels in the skin. This process stimulates cell turnover, supports collagen activity, and enhances skin regeneration without mechanical needles or aggressive trauma.

What you’re seeing here is real skin, real texture, and real progress:
• visible refinement after one treatment
• progressive improvement with additional sessions
• expected post-treatment responses such as redness and swelling

📌This treatment is suitable for all skin types and winter is the ideal time to focus on corrective skin work while supporting long-term skin health.

Swipe through to understand the process, the response, and the results 💛

Thank you 2025,

This year asked a lot of me — patience, courage, and trust in myself.

I learned that growth doesn’t always look loud or fast.

Sometimes it looks like showing up, even when you’re unsure.

Grateful for the lessons, the people and the quiet wins.

Here’s to laughing more, choosing myself, and building a life that feels honest.

Hello, new year ✨ 2026

Let’s talk real skin. Not filters. Not perfection.
Just the things you actually see in the mirror.

🤍At Vela Skin, I commonly work with:
• Congestion and breakouts
• Post-acne marks and uneven tone
• Dullness and “tired” skin
• Dehydration and tightness
• Fine lines and texture

Your skin isn’t a problem to be fixed – it’s something to understand. Every treatment starts with a conversation, a proper look at your skin, and a plan that respects your lifestyle and tolerance.

🫧If you see your skin in any of these slides, DM me “SKIN” and tell me your top concern, or tap the link in my bio to book a consultation facial.
