People come to me and say they have dry skin, but they also break out. How is that possible? Yep, it is possible to have both! You can have dry skin and adult breakouts at the same time. I happen to have the same problem.
Why Dry Skin Breaks Out
* Clogged pores: Dead skin cells build up on dry skin. These dead cells trap oil and dirt inside your pores.
* Too much oil: Dry skin lacks moisture. Your skin tries to fix this by making extra oil. That extra oil leads to pimples.
* Harsh products: Strong acne washes dry your face too much. This makes your skin barrier weak and causes more breakouts.
How I treat mine:
I use gentle cleanser that is mild. I avoid soap because it really dries out my skin and makes it feel tight.
I use the Clearproof charcoal mask once a week as a spot treatment on breakout areas only. In this reel I used the TimeWise Renewing gel mask, which sadly has been discontinued but the new Hydrating Cream mask is also non-comedogenic which means it will not clog your pores. I use it 2 times a week. See what works for you. Some people benefit from using each mask more often.
