Retention! Good Retention is something you look for when choosing your artist. While good retention is indicative of an experienced artist, poor retention sometimes can be caused by poor aftercare by the client, not following pre-care instructions in the 24 hours prior to your appointment, and sometimes, in rare occasions, a clients skin just doesn’t want to keep the pigment (this has only happened to me twice!)

This client had amazing retention and her skin took the pigment very well.

We’re both happy with how her brows turned out and that’s all that matters at the end of the day 🥰

Saline tattoo removal is a non-laser procedure that uses a specialized, high-concentration salt-and-water solution to lift unwanted pigment out of the skin. This form of removal is most suitable for old microblading, over saturated brows or unwanted eyebrow tattoos.

What can you expect?

1. 🖊️ Application: A technician uses a tattoo machine or manual tool to deposit the hypertonic saline solution into the previously tattooed skin. The number of sessions needed depends on the size and saturation of the area. Under normal circumstances, 2-6 sessions is typical.

2. 💧 Osmosis: The high salt concentration creates a chemical reaction that breaks the pigment bonds and draws the ink upward to the skin’s surface.

3. 🩹 Shedding: A light scab forms over the treated area as it heals. The trapped ink sheds naturally with the scab, lightening the tattoo over multiple sessions.

Pros:

1. Works well on all ink colors and cosmetic pigments (including white and yellow, which lasers often struggle with).

2. Safer for certain skin types and less likely to cause permanent skin discoloration than lasers.

Cons:

1. Requires multiple sessions and gradual fading.

2. Involves scabbing and a visible healing downtime of about two weeks per session.

I usually keep my business account strictly business but I just want to keep it real for a minute on a personal level.

These two small humans are my everything. To say they are my number 1 priority doesn’t even cut it, they are the reason I breathe. The three of us have been through a lot this past year, with the loss of my mom, it has been anything but easy.

Running a business is tricky at the best of times. Now try running a business as a single mom with 2 small children, juggling illnesses, pro d days, bus pick ups and drop offs, doctors appointments, dentists, and all of the other tricky things that go along with being a parent. On top of all I have already mentioned, imagine having to watch your best friend and mother slowly lose her battle with cancer. It has all been an incredibly tricky situation. Throughout all of this, I have done my best to run my business with integrity, kindness and dignity.

I do not expect everyone to understand what the past year has been like for us, nor do I expect everyone to support me, but what I do expect is kindness. And if you can’t do that, then maybe I’m not for you 🫶🏻

The world is a crazy place right now and I can tell you what it needs most is kindness and compassion because we are all out here doing the best we can.

Thank you to those who have shown me grace and understanding over this past year. It’s something I won’t ever forget.

The good news? I am back September 10 and will continue to provide great brows and even better company.
