My nails, my little work of art—done by me, on myself! 💅🏼🖤✨
As a beauty professional, so much of my time is spent making everyone else feel beautiful, teaching students, supporting our artists, and running Demure. But this time, I got to be my own client and give my own hands a little love!
I love the depth of cat-eye nails—that shimmer that catches the light and changes as you move your hands. Paired with a soft matte finish, it creates such a beautiful effect. A little moody, a little luxurious, and something I keep stopping to admire. ✨
Doing your own nails takes patience, especially when it’s time to switch hands! 😂 Working with your opposite hand gives you a whole new appreciation for the process. But there’s something so satisfying about looking down at the finished set and knowing you created it yourself.
For me, nails are another way to express my creativity. I love playing with textures, finishes, and little details that make a set feel personal. Sometimes you want something soft and simple; other times, you want nails that deserve their own close-up. These definitely earned a spot on the feed. 🖤
Building a beauty business means there is always something to do, and it’s easy to leave your own appointments until last. Taking the time to do this set reminded me how much I enjoy sitting down and creating just for the pleasure of it.
That feeling is a big part of what I love about our industry: being able to create something beautiful with your own hands, keep learning, and share that excitement with other people. Whether I’m working with a client, teaching a student, or trying something on myself, I still love seeing the finished result come together.

I absolutely love supporting women who chase their dreams, and this is one I’m so excited to share. 💚🌿
Over a year ago, I met this amazing woman as a client, and from the very beginning her kindness, warmth, and positive energy stood out. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow, work incredibly hard, and turn her dream into a reality.
She has officially opened Forest Friends Childcare in Cobble Hill, and you can truly feel the love, care, and passion she’s poured into every little detail. It’s such a beautiful, welcoming space where children can learn, explore, and thrive.

We’re so excited to highlight Aleah, one of the newest additions to the Demure family. She has taken her nail career for a spin and has been such a blessing to our salon already.
Aleah is incredibly kind, talented, and welcoming. She loves the outdoors and spending time with her horses, which perfectly reflects her calm and grounded personality. 🐎🌿
Along with beautiful nail work, Aleah also creates gorgeous lash extensions. She was trained by the fabulous Lisa at Bourdon Beauty, with extended training through Demure, and truly works as a stylist — customizing sets with the proper techniques, balance, and styles to suit each client.
She is currently welcoming new clientele as she continues building her portfolio, and we are so proud to have her on the team. Aleah is truly a real winner and such a wonderful addition to our salon.
