Adult Enrichment Center - Sault Ste Marie
Located in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Our programming is individualized according to needs, abilities, and passions of each individual in the program.
We take a holistic approach to supporting individuals and families with personalized disability and mental health support programs that foster independence and inclusion. Our goal is to provide your loved one with a safe and enjoyable environment where they can go and be free to be who they want to be. They will have the opportunity to enhance and develop their life skills and academics, be integrated into the community, and become prepared for a transitional period if required. We are also connected to many resources within the community that may be of assistance to the individuals within the program.

π World Mental Health Day | October 10 π
Today, our friends at AYEC Sault Ste. Marie join communities around the world in recognizing the importance of mental health and emotional well-being.
Everyone experiences challenges, and no one should have to face them alone. Whether itβs spending time with friends, sharing a laugh, getting outside, or simply being there to listen, small moments of connection can make a big difference. π
Letβs continue to support one another, celebrate our differences, break the stigma surrounding mental health, and remind everyone that you matter, your feelings matter, and itβs always okay to ask for help.
Mental health matters today and every day! π

ππ Down Syndrome Awareness Month ππ
Letβs celebrate abilities, challenge misconceptions, and put an end to the stigma surrounding Down syndrome!
People with Down syndrome are capable, intelligent, talented, ambitious, and full of potential. They have unique strengths, dreams, goals, and so much to contribute to their families, workplaces, schools, and communities. Like everyone else, they deserve the opportunity to learn, grow, make choices, build meaningful relationships, and pursue their dreams.
Down syndrome does not define a person. A diagnosis does not determine someoneβs intelligence, capabilities, or future. What matters is recognizing each individual for who they are, celebrating their strengths, supporting their goals, and creating opportunities for them to thrive.
Letβs move beyond outdated stereotypes and assumptions. Letβs replace stigma with understanding, exclusion with inclusion, and limitations with opportunities.
This month and every month, letβs celebrate differences, embrace abilities, and recognize that everyone deserves to be valued, respected, and given the chance to reach their full potential. ππ
Different abilities. Endless possibilities. Equal worth. π

𧑠National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Today, we honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to carry their stories and their impacts.
At the Adult & Youth Enrichment Center and Lonsdale Community Campus, we recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility. It calls on all of us to listen, learn, remember, and take meaningful action toward a future where every Indigenous child is safe, valued, respected, and given the opportunity to thrive.
Every child matters. Every child deserves to be protected. Every child deserves to come home. π§‘
Today, and every day, we remember. We listen. We learn. We stand committed to reconciliation.
Tomorrow, we pause to remember the children who never returned home from residential schools, honour Survivors and their families, and recognize the lasting impacts residential schools continue to have on Indigenous communities.
Truth and Reconciliation asks more of us than simply remembering. It asks us to listen, learn, reflect, and take meaningful action. It is an opportunity to learn about the true history of residential schools, the strength and resilience of First Nations, Inuit and MΓ©tis Peoples, and the ongoing journey toward reconciliation.
Wearing orange is one way to show that we remember and that Every Child Matters β but reconciliation is something we must carry with us every day. π§‘
We encourage everyone to take some time tomorrow to learn, listen to Indigenous voices, reflect on what we have learned, and consider what meaningful reconciliation can look like in our own communities.
