Why does hair regrowth feel different after sugaring (compared to shaving)?
A hair naturally has a tapered shape from root to tip.
When you shave you are cutting the hair where it is thicker.
So when it grows out you will feel the blunt and thick cut end as ‘prickly’ 🌵
When you sugar you remove hair from the root.
When it grows out you will feel the natural tapered end of the hair and it will feel softer.
This is because the entire hair is regrowing from the root and does not have a cut edge.

Fact: Over time sugaring can result in permanent hair reduction.
✅ Especially with regular maintenance appointments!
Myth: Sugaring is the same thing as waxing.
➡️ Sugar is a natural paste used at body temperature and the direction of hair removal is with the direction of hair growth (while wax removes against the direction of hair growth).
Myth: Sugaring doesn’t work for coarse or thick hair.
➡️ Sugar works for all hair types and is great for use all over the body.
Fact: Sugar paste only sticks to hair and dry skin (not live skin).
✅ This makes it less irritating to the skin and less of a risk of lifting live skin, especially in sensitive areas.
Myth: Your hair has to be long for effective removal.
➡️ Longer is not necessarily better. Because sugar paste is molded against the direction of growth, long hair can pull and feel more uncomfortable. Around 1/4” in length works well for a first appointment. 1/8” - 1/4” being good for maintenance appointments.
