Losing 6+ Nano strands within the first week is not something you should simply be told is “normal.”

When premature shedding happens, we need to look at the whole picture — your brushing technique, the products you’re using, how you’re washing and drying your hair, your maintenance routine AND the installation itself.

Because a proper Nano installation matters. 👇🏼

✨ LET’S TALK ABOUT WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS WITH EXTENSIONS. ✨

There’s a lot of information out there about extensions — but when it comes to getting beautiful, long-lasting results, these are the things I believe make the biggest difference:

🤍 START WITH QUALITY HAIR
Purchasing good-quality extensions from a supplier you trust is the foundation. You can’t expect longevity from hair that wasn’t designed to provide it.

🤍 A PROPER INSTALL MATTERS
Extensions should be installed by a trained, certified technician with experience. Placement, sectioning, tension and technique all play a role in how your natural hair and extensions wear.

🤍 KEEP YOUR HAIR DRY
Committing to never sleeping with wet or damp hair is one of the biggest extension-care rules. Your hair and bonds should be completely dry before you go to bed.

🤍 USE QUALITY PRODUCTS
Your extensions deserve good-quality topical products. I recommend paraben- and sulfate-free products that are appropriate for extension wear.

🤍 WASH LESS, WHEN POSSIBLE
Aim for 1–2 washes per week when your lifestyle and scalp allow it. Your extensions don’t need to be washed every day.

🤍 OIL YOUR ENDS — NOT YOUR ROOTS
A proper hair oil can help keep your mid-lengths and ends soft and conditioned. Keep oils away from your root and bond areas.

🤍 REDUCE FRICTION
Tie your hair into place during activity and while sleeping. Less friction, rubbing and unnecessary pulling means less stress on your hair.

🤍 BE MINDFUL OF HEAT
Less hot-tool exposure is always better. When heat is necessary, use a lower temperature and proper heat protection.

🤍 KNOW HOW TO BRUSH
Proper brushing techniques need to be understood AND followed. How you brush around your extensions can make a huge difference in their longevity.

🤍 STAY ON TOP OF MAINTENANCE
Keeping your maintenance appointments on schedule allows your extensions to be moved up before excessive growth creates unnecessary tangling, tension or stress — and helps keep your bonds moving independently. Going anymore than 8 weeks will result in a $25 per week past surcharge, no exceptions.
