Supporting families and children to grow, strengthen, learn & connect to others in the community! St. Albert and the surrounding communities since 1982.

Albert Family Resource Centre (SAFRC) is a thriving non-profit Family Resource Centre, serving families in St. Most of our programs are FREE with yearly $10 family membership! Membership is open to all families, no matter how big or small, and can include your immediate family & household members (e.g. children, partner, grandparents). We offer over 400 courses and workshops annually through our Family Life Education Program, at the centre and on an outreach basis. Early Childhood Programs, Child and Youth Programs, and Parent Education Programs make up the many courses offered. Our Family Support Program offers one-on-one education, support and referrals to parents or the primary caregiver of children. Programs vary in length and intake criteria. THE FOURTH TRIMESTER

The newborn days can be beautiful, exhausting, overwhelming, and sometimes… all of those things at once.

Our Fourth Trimester group is a warm and supportive space for new parents adjusting to the emotional and mental changes of early parenthood. Through guided conversations and educational activities, we’ll explore:

✨ Self-compassion & personal well-being
✨ Changing relationships & healthy boundaries
✨ Social media & the pressures of new parenthood
✨ The challenges of adjusting to a new identity
✨ Building connection and community with other new parents

Most importantly, it’s a chance to talk openly about the messy, beautiful, exhausting reality of caring for a baby — with others who are in a similar season of life.

📅 Every second Thursday, September 17 – December 10, 2026
⏰ 1:30–3:30 PM
👩‍🏫 Facilitated by Brittany Rice (St. Albert Family Resource Centre) and
Hannah Miller (Evolution Psychology) Evolution Psychology

This is an educational and supportive group, not a therapy group.

Come as you are. You don't have to have it all figured out.

This summer, our playground garden was full of life! Thanks to grant funding from the The Home Depot Foundation we were able to purchase Vegepods and create a special space where children could learn about growing food right in our own playground.

With lots of little hands helping along the way, we grew beans, peas, spinach, potatoes and carrots. The children loved watching their vegetables grow and were excited to help water, care for and check on the plants throughout the summer. There was something pretty special about seeing their excitement when they discovered a new pea pod or pulled a carrot.

Our garden was more than just a place to grow vegetables—it was a place to learn, connect and grow together. A big thank you to the Home Depot Foundation for helping us make this experience possible and to all of our little gardeners for giving our veggies so much love and care!
