You want to look like yourself, just more rested. That's exactly what these two do.

HArmonyCa is new to Canada. It lifts the midface now and supports your own collagen for the months ahead. From $1,700.

SKINVIVE by JUVÉDERM adds hydration and a smoother finish without adding volume. $999 for two syringes.

Pigment, breakouts and sun damage all look like one problem in the mirror. They aren't, and they don't respond to the same thing.

Hollywood Spectra is a pigment laser. It's the first device FDA-cleared specifically for melasma, and it also treats sun spots, freckles, post-inflammatory marks and mild to moderate acne. Different wavelengths, different depths, matched to what's actually there.

What it won't do is fix everything in one visit. Pigment lifts slowly on purpose, because pushing too hard is how you make it darker. Melasma in particular is managed rather than cured, so daily SPF is part of the plan whether you treat it or not.

Not sure your concern is a fit? Tell us what you've been dealing with and we'll tell you honestly.

Most people book the thing they saw on Instagram. Then they book the next thing.

There's no order to it, and the results reflect that. There's a reason sequence matters. Skin comes first, because tone and texture change how everything after it looks. Movement next, because lines that come from muscle don't respond to volume. Structure after that, once you can actually see what's missing rather than guessing.

The exception is biostimulators. They take months to do anything visible, so they often start before the rest of the decision is even finished. Late in the order, first on the calendar.

This is a framework, not your plan. Yours depends on what your skin is actually doing.

Two people can get the same list of treatments and end up looking nothing alike. Usually it comes down to the order.

Skin comes first almost every time. Tone, texture, pigment. It's often the least expensive part of a plan, and everything else sits on top of it anyway.

Movement comes next. If a line is being folded in by muscle every time you talk, that's the thing to address before you start filling it. Treat a line that's still folding and you'll be back doing it again.

Structure comes after that, and this is the part people mix up. Volume that's genuinely gone is one conversation. Volume that's still there but the quality has changed is a different one entirely.

Biostimulators are the exception. They're late in the order but early on the calendar, because they work over months rather than weeks.

Every step changes what the next one should be. That's why it gets decided in the room, not from a menu.

There's a version of aging gracefully nobody actually agreed to. The one where you watch your face change and do nothing, because doing something is supposedly vanity.

We don't buy it.

For a lot of our patients the thing they're noticing isn't a line. It's the structure underneath. Cheeks that used to hold themselves up. A jawline gone softer. Skin no cream is going to reach.

HArmonyCa with Lidocaine is built for that. A Health Canada authorized Class III device that pairs hyaluronic acid for immediate support with calcium hydroxyapatite to encourage your own collagen over the following months. It only became available in Canada this spring.

Whether it suits you depends on your face and your health history. That's what the consult is for.

You've probably seen jaw slimming described like it works on everyone. It doesn't.

A wider lower face comes from three different places. A strong chewing muscle, built up over years of clenching or grinding. Your actual bone structure. Or soft tissue fullness that sits over both.

Only the first one responds to a muscle-relaxing treatment. Relax the muscle, it shrinks from resting, and the jaw softens over a few months. If the width is bone, no injectable is going to change it. If it's fat, relaxing the muscle won't touch it either.

Plenty of people are a mix of two, which is exactly why nobody can tell you from a photo.

So we feel the muscle while you clench, look at your face properly, and work out what's actually driving the width. Only then is it worth talking about whether this treatment does anything for you.

Sun damage doesn't show up while you're getting it. It shows up now.

The pigment that surfaced over August didn't appear overnight. It was triggered weeks earlier and is only becoming visible as your tan fades. Same with the redness and the rough texture that wasn't there in spring.

Fall is when this actually gets addressed. UV exposure drops, which is exactly what pigment-focused treatment needs to work properly and stay corrected.

One thing worth saying plainly: new or changing moles are a physician question, not a cosmetic one. Get those looked at first.

If two or more of these sound like you, book an assessment and we'll tell you what's worth treating and what isn't.

Day three is when people panic.

You look flat. A little deflated.

Nothing like you did before. And the instinct is to assume something went wrong. Nothing went wrong. The enzyme we use can't tell the difference between the filler and the hyaluronic acid your own skin makes, so it takes a bit of both. Yours comes back on its own. The filler is what's gone, and that was the point.

Two weeks is when you actually know. Some people get there, look in the mirror, and want nothing put back. That happens more than you'd expect. Some want a little. And some find out the problem was never volume in the first place.

Worth knowing: this only works on hyaluronic acid filler. Other products don't dissolve, which is one more reason the assessment matters before anything goes in.

Some results you see the day you leave. Others take a few months to arrive. HArmonyCa does both.

It's a hybrid injectable, which means it works on two timelines at once. One part gives you immediate lift, smoothing and supporting right away. The other part works quietly underneath over the following weeks, encouraging your own collagen so the result keeps developing well after you've left the chair.

It's a different way to think about filler. Not just filling a space today, but building structure that holds over time. Whether it's the right fit depends on your face, your goals, and what's actually driving the changes you're seeing, which is a conversation worth having before anything else.

Collagen isn't a savings account. You can't deposit it in your twenties and withdraw it in your fifties.

What you can do is stimulate production, and that's a different mechanism with a different timeline. It responds to what your skin is doing right now, not to how early you started.

Which is why the plan changes by decade. In your thirties it's skin quality work. In your forties it's building depth. In your fifties it's the same tools against a steeper slope, and still worth doing.

None of it is a schedule you buy off a menu. What's right depends on your skin, not your birthday.
