MICRONEEDLING + PRP: WHAT ARE THEY?

Microneedling uses fine, sterile needles to create tiny channels in the skin. This controlled process supports the skin’s natural renewal response.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is prepared from a small sample of your own blood and contains concentrated platelets. When paired with microneedling, PRP is applied to the skin as part of the treatment.

Potential skin benefits may include:

* Improving the look of uneven texture and tone
* Softening the appearance of fine lines
* Improving the appearance of some acne scars
* Supporting a smoother, refreshed-looking complexion

Results vary, and this treatment may not be right for everyone.

A consultation with our Nurse Practitioner and medical aesthetician is required to assess your skin and health history, discuss potential benefits and risks, and determine whether microneedling with PRP is an appropriate option for you.

An exciting new chapter in care at SkinDiva!

We are thrilled to welcome Dana Yee, Nurse Practitioner, and expand the ways we can care for you. With Dana joining our team, we now offer therapeutic neuromodulator consultations and treatment planning for chronic migraine prevention and severe underarm sweating, along with consultations for jaw tension and teeth grinding.

These services extend beyond aesthetics, offering thoughtful assessment of concerns that may affect everyday life. Dana will discuss whether treatment may be appropriate for you, including the available evidence, potential risks, expected benefits and alternatives.

She will also be offering injections in cosmetic Neuromodulators( botox, nuceiva, dysport), dermal fillers and PRP.

Nursing since 2017, Dana brings experience in primary care, emergency medicine, women’s health and remote practice throughout Regina and Northern Saskatchewan. Dana is an incredibly intelligent person whose expanding her knowledge in Medical Aesthetics.

Dana has also completed advanced training in therapeutic neuromodulator management, cosmetic injections and PRP through the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine, including hands-on training in Vancouver.

We are excited to bring Dana’s patient-centred approach to the SkinDiva community, with safety, education and personalized care at the heart of every consultation.

Facial Dermal Filler Training Models Wanted

SkinDiva is seeking a limited number of models for an upcoming hands-on dermal filler training session Oct 2. Areas of focus may include:

* Cheeks
* Chin
* Nasolabial folds
* Marionette lines

Models will receive a reduced training-model fee in recognition of the additional time required for teaching and supervision.

Every interested person must complete an individualized consultation and health assessment. Treatment areas and product amounts will be determined according to clinical suitability, anatomy and safety—not solely by request. Being assessed does not guarantee selection or treatment.

Dermal filler carries potential risks and is not appropriate for everyone. The procedure, alternatives, expected outcomes, potential complications and aftercare will be reviewed before written informed consent is obtained. Individual results and experiences vary.

MIGRAINES ARE MORE THAN “JUST A HEADACHE”

Chronic migraine can significantly affect work, family life, sleep and overall well-being. Symptoms may include head pain, nausea, visual changes, and sensitivity to light, sound or movement.

Prescription neuromodulator injections may be considered as a preventive treatment for some adults living with chronic migraine. Treatment works by temporarily reducing the release of certain chemical signals involved in pain transmission. It does not cure migraine or treat an attack that is already underway, but it may help reduce the frequency and impact of headaches for appropriately selected patients.

Could this treatment be right for you?

Our Nurse Practitioner can:

• Review your headache frequency, symptoms and medical history
• Assess whether your symptoms are consistent with chronic migraine
• Discuss treatments you have previously tried
• Review potential benefits, limitations, risks and alternatives
• Determine whether a prescription neuromodulator is clinically appropriate
• Develop an individualized treatment and follow-up plan

Not everyone experiencing headaches will be an appropriate candidate. A comprehensive assessment is required before treatment, and results vary between individuals.

Possible side effects can include temporary injection-site discomfort, headache, neck pain, muscle weakness or eyelid changes. Rare but serious complications may occur. All potential risks, contraindications and aftercare will be reviewed during your consultation so you can make an informed decision.
