Nature Nurture Wellness
Biologist (MSc), botanist/herbalist, academic, aromatherapist, horticulturalist, homesteader I am so happy to be back with all of you. Susan Rever MSc
First a little bit about me and how this business has evolved over the years. I started my personal journey as 'The Organictarian' when I developed health issues in 2010 (hyperthyroidism, Grave's disease and stage 4 endometriosis). Yes all 3 in the same year. I learned that the 'health food' I was eating and the personal care products I was using at the time were contributing to my diseases/disorders. I made a choice in 2011 after my laparoscopic surgery that I had to make BIG changes to my lifestyle or my health would continue to deteriorate. And yes, all of my conventional medicine tests, bloodwork and physical exams up to that point revealed I was 'healthy.'
So I started on a journey to reverse my conditions and gain back my health. I am happy to report that it has been over 10 years since I have reversed my conditions. I love using my own experience and education/knowledge to help other people become healthier. We decided to move out to the country to an acreage (now 3 years ago) so I could start growing my own herbs and homestead. This led to The Organictarian evolving into Nature Nurture Wellness. I will forever be The Organictarian as everything we grow is organic. My values and beliefs have not changed. With my new business venture, I will be offering botanical products, homesteading products, workshops/retreats and healing/wellness jewelry. I am an academic with 20+ years of experience in curriculum design and lab/course/workshop facilitation. 25+ years experience working with botanicals. My journey started at Olds College in horticulture. I have had some amazing jobs/positions in the botanical, environmental and agricultural industries. I hope to help as many people as I can live a happier and healthier life sharing what I have learned, experienced and continue to learn.

Chamomile flowers, calendula petals and elderberries harvested today. The elderberries will be dehydrated. I let the flowers and petals air dry. There is still more to harvest.
I also was able to harvest some mullein and lamb's ear!! I love this time of year, but also glad when it is over.

It has been a busy week here at the Rever-Webster household!!! We picked up two 20lb cases of BC freestone peaches this past Saturday. I made:
- 8 half pints of peach butter flavoured with vanilla, spices and bourbon π
- 6 pints and 1 half pint of peach sauce
- 6 pints and 1 half pint of peach salsa (tomato free)
- one 9x13 and one 8x8 peach crisp
- 4 large freezer bags of sliced peaches (lemon juice) for future crisps
- a batch of dehydrated peaches soaked in a honey bourbon marinade
- peach juice
We even had some left over for eating. They are so good!! All of this hardwork pays off since we get to go grocery shopping in our pantry/freezers over winter full of stuff we have grown, canned and hunted. I know what is in my food. It just tastes better than store bought.

We will definitely make more. This BBQ sauce will be good with pork, chicken and venison.

Freshly picked haskaps!! We planted our 2 bushes 3 years ago. These berries came off one bush. The other bush needs another day or two.
Have you ever tried haskaps?

Our garden has been productive so far despite the cool wet spring. I made strawberry jam with low sugar pectin. We enjoyed a spinach salad. I plan to replant the spinach so we get a second harvest in the fall.
We picked our garlic scapes today and made pesto and garlic butter.
I plan to hang one of our herb dryers since our oregano is huge. I can also start harvesting some catnip, thyme and lemon balm.
Stay tuned for more pictures/videos!!

Mushrooms and microgreens down the road.
Anything else you would like to see?? I had thought about opening up a farm stand here in Edenwold but it might be too far out in the country.
