What a beautiful day!!! Welcome to Prince Rupert visitors. Today we met visitors from as far as Greece, Netherlands, and Japan. We also got to chat with some fellow Canadians from the East. All guests were so pleasant and super stoked to be in Rupert on one of the few sunny days of the year.

Canada Day has always been a complicated day for many of us as Indigenous people.

I carry the truth of our history, the impacts of colonization, and the resilience of our Nations. Those truths deserve to be honoured and remembered. At the same time, I also recognize that we are part of Canada today. Our futures are connected, and I believe we all have a responsibility to help shape this country into one that truly reflects justice, respect, and the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

For me, acknowledging Canada Day isn't about forgetting the past or celebrating without question. It's about recognizing where we are today while continuing the work of reconciliation, decolonization, and rebuilding relationships based on truth, respect, and reciprocity.

I honour my ancestors, celebrate the strength of our people, and remain hopeful for the generations to come.

Happy Canada Day. 🍁

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, cultures, languages, and traditions of First Nations, Inuit, and MΓ©tis Peoples across Turtle Island.

As an Indigenous-owned business, Wooms Botanicals Co. is deeply rooted in the teachings of our ancestors and the connection between people, plants, and the land. We are honoured to share traditional knowledge and to continue learning from those who came before us.

National Indigenous Peoples Day is a time to celebrate who we are, recognize the contributions of Indigenous Peoples, and acknowledge the importance of preserving our cultures for future generations.

Today, we honour our Elders, our families, our communities, and the generations yet to come.
