Happy 4th birthday to Wilde Beauty’s most junior employee, W***y! 🎂💚

We adopted W***y through a rescue when he was 14 months old and a very reasonable 145 lbs. 😂 Almost three years later, he has filled out to a nice 190 lbs and somehow still believes he is approximately lap-dog sized.

He’s goofy, sensitive, loves his stuffies, follows us everywhere, has never quite figured out personal space, and makes sure he’s involved in absolutely everything happening around here. Despite outweighing Frankie by quite a bit, he knows she is still the boss. 🥰

He has come such a long way since we brought him home, and somewhere along the way he also appointed himself Wilde Beauty’s junior studio supervisor and assistant to the original spa dog, Frankie. 🥹🤎

Life with you is louder, hairier, much more crowded and a whole lot funnier.

Happy 4th birthday to my giant shadow, W***y boy. 💚

Now that you’ve seen his official annual performance review… what rating are we giving him out of 10? 😂👇

Swipe to the 7th slide for the shift I wish I’d understood much earlier in my career. 👀

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to know which bit, grit, speed or product to reach for on your pedicure trolley. Learning how to use your tools safely and effectively is an important part of developing your skills. It takes time and experience to understand when to use those tools, why you’re choosing them and when you may need to change your approach.

It’s easy to focus so much on finding the “right” tool or technique that we forget to first understand what we’re looking at and what the feet in front of us may need that day.

That was one of the biggest shifts for me as I gained more experience, and it has shaped the way I approach pedicures and the way I teach them today.

Knowing which tool to use is important, but I also want you to understand what you’re looking at, what may be contributing to it, and how that information should guide the way you approach the service.

Being able to adapt matters too, especially when the textbook example doesn’t walk through your door.

Because it rarely does. 😂

What’s one part of pedicures you wish you felt more confident assessing? Tell me below 👇 I’d love to know what you want to understand better so I can create more education around it 👣

I lost an amazing client this week… 💚

And it left me thinking about something I don’t think we always realize when we’re behind the chair.

Especially when we’re so focused on doing a good job.

We spend so much time learning better techniques, investing in education, choosing the right products, improving our consultations and trying to give our clients the best results we possibly can.

All of that matters. A LOT.

But sometimes the thing a client remembers most about their time with you has very little to do with the service you performed.

This week, I was reminded that we don’t always get to choose which part of someone’s experience with us leaves the biggest impression.

It might be that you listened when they needed someone to listen.

That they never felt embarrassed sitting in your chair.

That you remembered something they told you six weeks ago.

That you took the time to explain instead of making them feel silly for asking.

Or maybe it was simply that you were kind.

We can get so caught up in becoming better at what we do that I think it’s worth remembering the kind of person we want to be while we’re doing it.

And the really beautiful part?

You probably have no idea how many people you’ve already left that kind of impression on. 💚

So here’s your little challenge today:

Think of someone who has made you feel seen, comfortable, supported or simply treated you with kindness.

Send this Reel to them and tell them why you thought of them.

They might have absolutely no idea. 🥹

Are you following Wilde Beauty over on Instagram yet? 👣💚

Instagram is where I share a lot more of the behind-the-scenes of what happens here at Wilde Beauty Studio & Academy, from real client work and interesting foot care cases to waterless pedicures, e-file techniques, products I love, education, and the why behind the way I approach different feet.

You’ll also see more of the everyday side of things: life as a pedicurist and educator, running a small business, building Wilde Beauty Academy, continuing my own education, and probably the occasional appearance from W***y, Frankie and maybe even Phil. 😂

Whether you’re a client, fellow beauty professional, past student, or you’ve simply been following Wilde Beauty for a while, I’d love to have you over there too.

Come say hi and follow along on Instagram:

Some of the most meaningful results in foot care aren’t the ones that happen in a single appointment. They’re the ones you get to watch unfold over time.

When a client starts telling you their feet don’t hurt the way they used to, when the skin begins responding differently, or when something that has bothered them for years becomes more manageable, those are the results that mean the most to me. 💚

Sometimes getting there means resisting the urge to create the most dramatic before-and-after possible. It means slowing down, asking more questions, understanding what may be contributing to what you’re seeing, and making decisions based on what that individual client actually needs.

This is exactly why I teach pedicures the way I do.

I want my students to move beyond simply following a routine and become confident understanding what they’re seeing, why it matters, and how that information should guide the service in front of them. Confidence doesn’t come from memorizing more steps. It comes from understanding the why behind what you do.

If this is the way you want to learn pedicures too, I would love to have you join me. 💚

Comment TRAINING and I’ll send you information about my in-person Waterless E-File Pedicure training and the waitlist for my upcoming Online Waterless E-File Pedicure Course.
