Last year, 36 incredible women joined ORESTA’s Bosom Buddies team to Run for the Cure with Laryssa. Together, we raised over $23,000 for breast cancer research and care! 💗
On Sunday, October 4th, we’re doing it again.
Whether you run or walk the 1 km or 5 km route, we’d love to have you join our team. Come for the movement, stay for the hugs, laughter, tears and the incredible feeling of women showing up for one another.
We’re running for Laryssa, for every woman fighting, every survivor, every woman we’ve lost, and every person who has loved someone through breast cancer.

While we talk a lot about skin care, let’s talk about oral health.
Oral care is something we do every day — brushing, flossing, cleaning the tongue, and caring for gum. It’s all part of a healthy wellness routine.

This is a photo of my daughter. I took it this summer because I just loved the fresh flowers in her hair.
My daughter is my mini me. We hear it all the time. I love it and so does she.
We had some great conversations this summer. One of them was about women altering their faces. We talked about the pressure to look a certain way. She said she was glad I’ve never had any work done on my face.
In the moment, I just smiled but then I thought about what it would actually mean to her when she looks so much like you.
If I erase my lines, soften my features, change the shape of my eyes or nose, or chase a younger version of myself, I’m teaching her that the face she inherited from me isn’t good enough.
I’m not judging women who choose Botox or filler. We all have our own choices to make but let’s never call it empowerment.
Real empowerment isn’t the freedom to change your face until it looks less like you. It’s the freedom to look in the mirror and say:
I don’t need fixing.
The most powerful thing I can give my daughter is the ability to believe that her face was always enough. ❤️

Another summer is never promised. I’ve spent years feeling self conscious about my body. I still do. But at 62, I’ve decided that life is too short to fret about my body.
The day was beautiful so I decided to dance on the dock, even if someone was watching (which I hope they weren’t 🤣) . I’m grateful to be able to move and dance…. so I did. ❤️
I’m not posting because I’m brave. Trust me, I’m not but I want to normalize seeing more women my age in bathing suits enjoying their perfectly imperfect bodies and moving like no one is watching… even if they are.
The “I don’t make enough estrogen to care what others care about me anymore” quote sealed the deal.
