Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is form of Cranial Osteopathy. Craniosacral Therapy recognizes five key movements in the body: the mobility of the cranial bones, the fluctuation of cerebrospinal fluid, the motility of the central nervous system, the reciprocal tension membranes, and the involuntary mobility of the sacrum between the ilia. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy also recognizes these body movements, but prioritizes the innate intelligence expressed by the body. This intelligence defines the internal balance of chemistry, nervous activity and alignment in the body. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy experiences this intelligence as a wider ordering principle in nature, and health as a living breathing reality that can be palpated by knowing hands.

Appointments are available to all current patients and new perinatal patients. If you are continuing care, an email was sent to you earlier in the week with a link to your new Mayasoma JaneApp account. Appointments are booking fast. If don’t see an appointment date or time that works for you, please add yourself to the waitlist so that I know you are trying to book in and I will try to find you an appointment.

New non-perinatal patients are welcome to book by referral only (ie. family, spouse and good friends of current patients). At the moment, perinatal patients will be given booking priority.

It is with great joy that I welcome you to Mayasoma Therapeutics, a new massage therapy studio opening July 2026 - by appointment only. Located at 466 Josephine Street, second floor in Nelson BC. The treatment room is beautiful, spacious, bright and quiet. This building has been home to several incarnations of myself, and it feels full circle to return to this healing space.

My booking site will be live next week, in the meantime I am gathering a waitlist for therapeutic massage. Perinatal massage therapy appointments and existing patients will be given priority booking.

Cranial TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) Therapeutic Massage

As some of you know I worked as a holistic facialist for many years; I have a deep love for this work and have wanted to bridge this into therapeutic massage. After much request, I am pleased to be offering a more focused treatment for structures of the cranium, including the neck, face, cranial fascia in it’s synergy with the temporomandibular joint. The jaw commonly stores stress and plays an important role in relationship to myo-mechanical functions of the upper thoracic, cervical spine, cranium and the pelvis. Benefits include improved joint function, increased blood flow, reduced pain, and reduced muscular and fascial restrictions.

This treatment is also restorative and deeply settles the nervous system. Treatment may also include the precise and integral work of addressing the musculature inside the mouth; this is a gentle yet therapeutic process. Included in the treatment is the use of hot and cold therapy, and Gua Sha where indicated. No facial products are used, with the exception of a minimal amount of organic coconut oil for glide.

Bookings are available on our online Apple Tree Orchard booking platform. All massage treatments that I offer are tailored individually, cranial or TMJ treatments can be requested at any time, however focused treatments offer an extended benefit.

Childbearing asks for an incredible amount of energy from our body/mind. Let us not minimize this miraculous act. We create life from our life - from our bodies, our cells, our minerals, our love. We are asked to expand our capacity for all of life’s experiences, while our bodymind transforms through exponential growth. Love-Joy-Ecstasy and Sorrow-Anger-Grief are normal expressions of the pulses of our growth and we require tender care.

Bodywork for the perinatal time continuum (preconception > pregnancy > postpartum) offers an opportunity to receive kind and gentle care, care for our aching bodies, our isolation, our nervous system, and our growing babies.
