A friendly reminder as we head into cold and flu season.

With kids back in school and bugs making their way through households and workplaces, I wanted to share something that’s important to me.

I’m very open about having Crohn’s disease and being immunocompromised. A cold or virus can hit me harder and take longer to recover from. I’ve sometimes been sick for two weeks, and being self-employed, that means cancelled appointments and no income while I recover.

If you’re sick, have been sick recently, or still aren’t feeling well when your 48-hour appointment reminder arrives, please contact me. We’ll figure out together whether we should reschedule. You don’t need to wait for that reminder, either. If symptoms start closer to your appointment, just reach out as soon as you can.

I know my cancellation policy is strict, but illness is an exception. If you’re sick and need to cancel, contact me and I’ll waive the cancellation fee. Please don’t come in sick because you’re worried about being charged.

This is also about looking out for you. When your immune system is busy fighting a cold or flu, give yourself time to rest and recover. If you’re already feeling achy, exhausted or run-down, I don’t want you pushing through a deep or intensive massage. I’d much rather see you when you’re feeling better, comfortable receiving treatment, and able to get the most out of your appointment.

Massage involves close contact. We’re often sharing the same room for an hour, and during parts of your treatment, I’m working just inches from your face. Giving me a heads-up helps protect me, other clients, and the appointments everyone is counting on.

Thank you for understanding and helping me keep the clinic a healthy place for all of us. I really appreciate it!

Mathieu

Six in-person RAPID NeuroFascial Reset courses, with Upper Body, Lower Body, and Core now completed twice each… “double RAPID specialist” has a nice ring to it 😂

Last weekend’s Lower Body refresher wrapped up this round of training. These courses are two long, intensive days of learning and hands-on practice. If I look a little drained in some of the photos, now you know why 😅

Even the second time around, there’s so much to take away: details to refine, questions to work through, and things to bring back to the clinic.

One of my favourite parts has been meeting practitioners from all over, learning alongside them, and building connections that last well beyond the weekend.

I’m taking a break from the refreshers for a while, but there’s still more I want to learn! On my list:

• RAPID 4: Advanced Techniques, to build on what I’ve learned so far.

• TAC: Trauma, ANS and Concussion, which looks more closely at trauma responses, the autonomic nervous system, and RAPID’s concussion protocols.

For now, I’ve got plenty to bring back to the clinic and keep working on.

A big thank-you to RAPID founders and instructors RobnSherry Routledge for sharing their knowledge, and to everyone I’ve had the chance to learn and practise with along the way. Six weekends well spent. It’s been fun!

Wrapped up two intensive days of RAPID NeuroFascial Reset Lower Body training! 🙌

This weekend was a chance to revisit the techniques I use in the clinic, fine-tune the details, and build on my experience. Going back through a course brings a different perspective when you can connect what you’re learning to the people you treat every day.

Looking forward to bringing that fresh perspective back to the clinic!

More to come soon 👀

Big shoutout to JavaMoose Coffee Roaster for providing the liquid energy getting me through this weekend! ☕🫎

Eight hours a day of RAPID NeuroFascial Reset training is a serious workout for the brain. I’m used to treating clients all day, but absorbing this much information and staying this focused is a whole different challenge 😂

Learning lots to bring back to the clinic, with a little help from what’s in this dispenser! 🙌

Another course and exam completed! 🙌

I’ve recently completed RockTape FMT Blades, building on my previous training in instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), a technique I already offer in the clinic.

Revisiting a technique through a different education provider is a great opportunity to refresh the foundations and pick up a different perspective.

I’m also working through the advanced course, and this weekend I’m heading to Saint John for more RAPID NeuroFascial Reset training!

A busy stretch of continuing education behind the scenes. Looking forward to bringing what I learn back to the clinic! 😊

A new one for the wall! 🥉

My 2026 CommunityVotes Moncton plaque just arrived, and this is the first time I’ve received bronze in the Massages category.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate and vote for me, and to every client who continues to trust me with their care. Your support truly means a lot, and I’m proud to add this plaque to the others on my clinic wall!

Back-to-school season gets busy quickly.

For teachers, it means classroom setup, planning and getting used to long days again. For families, it means new morning routines, activities and packed schedules.

Fit in a massage before the busy season starts and your calendar fills up. Massage therapy may help with built-up neck, shoulder and back tension so you can start the new routine moving better.

Cupping is one part of the treatment, not the entire appointment.

I often use moving cups to help warm and prepare the area before returning to deeper hands-on work. The split is often close to 50/50, but I adjust it to your goals, comfort and response.

Temporary marks can happen, but heavy marking is not the goal.

Follow for clear breakdowns of what massage treatment actually looks like.
