I’m on the hunt for reliable adjusters alternatives rn and this Flash Palette by MUFE was actually really nice!

It’s def super pigmented and a little goes a really long way. I’m excited to mix it with oils and other foundation thinners to make it into a liquid foundation/adjuster.

This is just my first impressions - will keep y’all updated as I play with it more.

If you’ve used this palette, lmk your fav tips below!👇🏽

Another day, another neutral heavy foundation range and another day I’m out here asking “but where’s the olive shades?”

Hoping the actual shade range that launches is more olive friendly but we’re gonna have to wait to see that!

I personally could not find a match for myself in the original Pro Filter foundation & the formula did not work on my psoriasis prone skin… but I did see a lot of clients struggle to find their match due to oxidization.. which could’ve been the shades pulling orange on olive skin all along? Just my opinion/theory!

🤨 Most of us were handed warm, cool, neutral with a 3-swatches-on-the-jaw method and told that was shade matching.

Then we got in front of real skin, with real undertone and real surface interference.. and we started doing our best with what we had. 😕

And if you were self taught.. you pretty much just picked up what you could along the way between social media, YouTube and other MUAs to elevate your skills as you learned.

So we kept buying foundations. Hoping the next one would fix it.
Avoiding certain inquiries.
Not posting certain photos. Moving on and hoping no one looked too closely.

Taking more and more masterclasses with other artists, trying to piece together something reliable for shade matching our clients. 😮‍💨

You don’t need a bigger kit or more theory.

You need to be able to:
✧ confidently welcome every client in your chair
✧ read what’s actually in front of you
✧ recalibrate until the match disappears - every time, reliably

You need help putting the theory into practice. 🧪

👩🏻‍🏫 And that’s exactly what I’m building for the working makeup artist who is done guessing and hoping for the best.

Comment WAITLIST below and you’ll be the first to know when deets drop and spots open.

✧ rooting for your success, always.

Shade match No. 39!! 🖤

Diana came in for her bridal preview and had never had her makeup done before.

The read on neutral olive Asian complexion is a two-layer job.

Undertone first: is it warm, cool, or neutral? 👀

🫒 Then the olive filter on top: is it there?

On her, yes it was. Those little bits of yellow around the mouth that aren’t warmth, they’re a separate layer sitting on the undertone entirely.

Most artists see the yellow and reach for a warmer colour but missing the olive filter is why the match often ends up pulling warm or orange. 🍊

If you’re a working artist done second-guessing on WOC complexions, I’m building my 1:1 Intensive to help you master your shade matching. 👩🏻‍🏫

In the meantime, drop SKILL in the comments & my witch bot will send you my free Complexion Reading Guide to get you started! 🦇

Sometimes a w*tch just needs to geek out okayyyyyy? 😇

70 shades can’t answer what a client carries into the chair with her.

On how consumers perceive colour, an important distinction is also how they *desire* their skin tone to be.

In my chair over 15 years doing makeup in a very diverse city, that goes deeper than a strong match.

Colourism, colonised standards of beauty, and the intersection of skin tone and success are often overlooked by brands.

That’s an understanding you can only develop by working with clients in your chair and by listening.

When I calibrate someone’s skin with confidence, I’m telling her: I see you. I’m here to meet you where you need to be fully seen as yourself, not where you stand in someone else’s standard of beauty.

I know how that feels and the anxiety around not knowing who will end up in chair is real. 🖤

Most of us were handed an oversimplified training: 3 undertones, basic colour theory, and a range of foundations from light to dark then sent off into the unknown to “get better with practice.”

And practice meant hoping for the best on paying clients… which is kinda crazy when you think about it.

Let alone that sinking feeling when you click that one bridesmaid you know you’ll struggle to match. Or knowing that one bride’s pictures will expose the mismatch. 🥲

I’m building something for you: a real framework to close the gaps, put theory into practice, master your shade matching, and welcome every client into your chair confidently. 😌

I set out last year to become a booked-out bridal artist. Found something I didn’t expect instead.

Previews are honestly my favourite part of our journey together: good vibes, collaboration, lots of laughs and sometimes a few tears. But we always leave connected and aligned and that matters so much before the big day. 💗

It’s more than just makeup. Brides who don’t really wear it day to day, who just want a safe space to feel seen and made up to be beautifully themselves.. those are my girls honestly. That’s the part I’m not letting go of.

Bridal is still mine, just a much more exclusive part of what I do now. 😊

If that sounds like you, “came for the makeup, stayed for the connection” kinda vibes, reach out, babe. I’d love to work together. 🖤
