God works in mysterious ways.

In 2020 I had no one to watch my kids, so I left a job I loved and ended up on welfare with two little ones depending on me. And I mean I loved that job. But no version of it let me be the mom they needed, so I walked away from something I cared about with no idea what came next.

At the time it felt like everything was falling apart. I was on welfare, stretching every dollar, grieving a job I didn’t want to leave, trying to figure out my next step without losing myself in the middle of it.

But looking back, that’s the season that pushed me toward the thing that changed everything. I learned to lash. Not because it was trending, but because I needed a skill I could build something with. A skill I could use from home. A skill that worked around my kids. A skill no-one could take away from me.

Six years later that’s still true. Jobs change. Support falls through. Life shifts. But the skill in your hands is yours to keep building with. And now I get to teach other women to start from zero and build something of their own too.
