𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐞 & 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 🍷

Before breakfast this morning, we poured 80 bars of one of the most beautiful—and most unexpected—soaps to come from our studio yet.

This rich, naturally coloured soap begins with a reduced Cabernet Sauvignon and Himalayan rhubarb root–infused olive oil, creating its gorgeous deep wine-rose hue.

Its scent is warm, complex, and so beautifully balanced: softly floral Rosewood, grounding frankincense and dark patchouli, gentle spice from cinnamon leaf, and the smooth, vanilla-like warmth of benzoin. It is deep, velvety, and a little bit mysterious—in the very best way.

Hi, I’m Jenn — wife, mother of four, grandma to two, small business owner, and soap maker. I love Jesus, my family, my pets… and I truly love what I’m building here.

Every bar of 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘆 soap is made by hand in small batches with thoughtfully chosen natural ingredients, naturally coloured with herbs, botanicals, clays, and even foods like coffee, pumpkin, cucumber, and coconut milk.

You may have known my soap line as 𝗟𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 & 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆𝗯𝘂𝗴𝘀. It is now becoming 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘆, a name that reflects its connection to our little store, Abundant Living Health Food Store & Hippie Hub. As we prepare for Abundant Living’s expansion into the old City Hall, I’m so excited to see this handmade line become an even more meaningful part of what we offer our community.

I use beautiful pure essential oils in my soaps, sourced through a Canadian wholesaler — and those same high-quality oils are now available in our own in-house essential-oil collection at Abundant Living.

🎉 The curing rack is officially full! 🎉

Over the past week, we made 12 batches—480 bars of handmade soap—and every one is now safely tucked onto the curing rack.

Just look at those beautiful, all-natural colours. From soft pinks and sunny golds to warm neutrals and mossy greens, this collection is already smelling absolutely incredible.

It has been a hard week physically, and I truly could not have done it without so much help from my hubby. But seeing this rack full feels pretty special. ❤️

And this is only half of our planned holiday soap collection!

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗮𝗽𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺. ✨

After lunch, we cleared the soap table and got to work on a double batch of Coconut Milk & Lemongrass Soap—𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝟴𝟬 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝟯𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀.

That kind of efficiency comes from a lot of planning, measuring, prep work, and teamwork behind the scenes. Dwayne jumped in today, and together we made a little holiday soap-making magic.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄. The recipe has been tweaked over time, but people keep coming back for that fresh, pure lemongrass scent—and the creamy coconut milk makes the lather oh-so-dreamy.

This beautiful sunny colour comes from our turmeric and annatto seed-infused olive oil. 💛

Grateful for the privilege of creating beautiful things by hand, for the cozy little soap studio where these loaves come to life, and most of all, for the incredible support our community gives our small business.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗮𝗽 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆! 🍂🧡

We kicked things off this morning with 𝟴𝟬 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗮𝗽—warm, bright, spicy, and perfectly cozy for the season.

Made with Himalayan rhubarb root–infused olive oil, creamy coconut milk, beautiful pink clays, and topped with cranberry seeds. The scent is a festive blend of orange, cinnamon, clove, balsam fir, and litsea—like a simmering pot of cranberry goodness on a crisp autumn day.

𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗮𝗽 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲!

Sometimes the prettiest things come from a change of plans. 🌿

Tonight’s soap pour was supposed to be one more batch of our beloved Spearmint Patchouli—but we discovered we were just a little short on spearmint oil. With cucumber purée, creamy coconut milk, kaolin clay, and chlorophyll already ready to go, we decided to create something entirely new instead.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗽𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘆 ✨

A soft, soothing cucumber green soap made with an entire can of creamy coconut milk, then scented with cool spearmint, bright litsea, grounding frankincense, and a touch of dark patchouli.

At the very last minute, we added aloe vera extract too—because it suited this fresh, soothing little bar perfectly.

It smells fresh, calming, clean, and just a little bit luxurious—the kind of soap that makes an ordinary shower feel like a little escape.

I have a feeling this happy accident may become a favourite. 🤍

It feels WAY too early to be thinking about holiday soaps—especially on such a beautiful autumn day! 🍂 But handmade soap needs time to cure, so here we are! 😂

We thought we’d kick things off with our top-selling soap—𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗶!

Made with puréed cucumber and creamy coconut milk, and scented with pure spearmint & dark patchouli essential oils, this minty, earthy favourite is making its comeback! 💚

Teamwork makes the dream work! Thanks to my hubby’s help, we got these 80 bars poured AND the soap studio cleaned up behind us in record time. 🥰
