I don’t generally share much of my personal life on this page, but today I felt it was important to share this photo as a dedication to my mother. 🤍

Today would have been my mom’s 70th birthday.

She passed away in 2014, but not a day goes by that I don’t miss her.

Long before makeup became my career, it was something that connected me to my mom.

As a little girl, I would sit and watch her do her makeup. I loved watching her get ready for everyday life, but especially for special occasions. I was fascinated by the brushes, the colours, the products… everything.
And when she wasn’t looking, I would sneak over to her makeup table and play with all of her makeup.

Looking back now, I realize those little moments were the beginning of something that would eventually become such a huge part of my life.

My love for makeup started with her.

She unknowingly planted a little seed in me that grew into the career I have today. Every time I pick up a brush, create a look, or help a woman feel beautiful and confident, I think about where that love began.

So much of who I am today is because of her.

I wish she could see the woman and makeup artist I have become. I wish I could tell her how much those childhood moments meant to me. And most of all, I wish she were here so I could celebrate her 70th birthday with her.

But I carry her with me—in my heart, in my memories, and in something I have loved for as long as I can remember.

Happy 70th birthday, Mom. 🤍

I miss you every single day, and I’ll always be grateful that you were the one who first taught me to love makeup.
