‼️A few notes on Mature Looks from professional MUA whos been doing it for 20+ yrs:

Most of the time, and this really saddens me,moms tell me if they ever had makeup done before they've had a really bad experience, and the biggest issue they had? 1) skin was "caked on", "i wanted to take it all off" and 2) "i had dark eyes like the rest of the bridesmaids"

Translation for me as your mua? That makeup artist isnt versatile, isnt experinced in mature skin or different looks, period, and therefore cannot adjust their skill and technique to a different (seasoned) face. This comes down to lack of experience and lack of listening skills. Luckily I come from a strong years long background in retail where I would consult and assist clients based on their needs.
The result? You ask a ton questions about every part of their face to achieve the look they'll b confident wearing for the day!
I start with skin!! Arguably most important feature. How do you like to see yourself? Do you want every spot/freckle/discoloration covered? Or do you just want a light wash of a tint to even things out without masking anything? *** I dont care that some muas style is full glam/full coverage, if you're experienced youd know how easily it is to dilute your foundation with various products to give a sheer and lighter, radiant coverage.
Eyes: you ask what they typically do with their eyes, how do they accentuate them, what colours do they gravitate towards. If you think perhaps you have a suggestion for something that will compliment them betyrr, speak openly to them. It's a collaborative process.
And when it comes to false lashes, more often than not clients don't know that there are SO many different styles of lashes from very soft and natural enhancement to more glam - *** it is your job as a pro to be able to offer variety (strip, clusters, individuals) and be able to customize them for each face AND explain to them what will suit them best. They're looking to you for education and reassurance!

They're there for a calming enjoyable experience, make them feel like a queen! Every client no matter what age they are, deserves to feel & look their best ❤️

Your age has no limits. Beauty has no limits or expiry date. Wear what you want, when you want it, as long as you feel fabulous. :)
