Helping Kids, Parents, Athletes and Everyone else express their Health and Performance from age 0 to 100!

Chiropractic

Our care is focused on helping children, families, and athletes move, heal, and perform at their best. Through precise adjustments and a whole-body approach, we improve and support the nervous system—the foundation of health—so your body can perceive and coordinate the function of ALL other cells in your body. That means helping a growing child thrive at all ages, keeping your family well, or optimizing athletic performance. Our goal is simple: help you function the way for which you were designed. Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy designed to restore movement, reduce pain, and build lasting resilience. We combine hands-on treatment with personalized exercise strategies to help you recover from injury, improve strength and mobility, and prevent future setbacks. Whether you’re returning to sport or simply want to move better in daily life, we meet you where you are and guide you forward. Massage Therapy

Massage therapy that helps your body unwind, recover, and recharge. Using targeted, therapeutic techniques, we reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and support your body’s natural healing processes. Whether you’re dealing with stress, soreness, or the demands of an active lifestyle, massage is a powerful tool to help you feel and function better. Osteopathy

Osteopathic care that looks at the body as an interconnected system. Through gentle, hands-on techniques, we assess and address restrictions in movement to support proper structure and function. By restoring balance across the body, osteopathy helps improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and enhance your body’s natural ability to self-regulate and heal.

When you’re in the thick of the newborn and toddler stages, just surviving until bedtime usually feels like a massive win. But while you’re busy changing diapers and pouring another cup of coffee, your little one’s brain is quietly pulling off something incredible. 🧠✨

Science calls the window from conception to their second birthday the "First 1,000 Days". It’s a period of rapid, foundational growth where their developing brain and nervous system are highly adaptable to the environment around them. The best news? You don't need fancy developmental toys or a perfect parenting record to maximize this window.

Research shows that simply offering "good-enough" parenting and creating a calm, loving environment is what truly builds resilience and healthy attachment. Want an easy way to help wire their brain today? Just start talking. Narrating your daily chores ("Okay, let's put the red shirt in the laundry") feeds their nervous system the exact sensory and language input it craves to build complex neural pathways.

We’re diving deep into the neurology of the First 1,000 Days in this week's Monday Morning Adjustment newsletter. Hit the link in our bio to read it, and learn how keeping their master wiring clear and balanced can support this massive growth phase! 👇

I think we can all agree, women's ability to build a human from scratch is a miracle - right?

And with all the guesswork surrounding due date - what if there was a cool way moms could measure progress on their own?

Well, even though the sample size was small, measured HRV and resting heart rate may help women know when their labour will start!

Through early and mid pregnancy, resting heart rate goes up, and heart rate variability (HRV) goes down - building a human takes work and the body is reflecting that.

But, right about 49 days before labour begins, the trend switches, and HRV begins to climb, and resting heart rate starts to lower.

Kinda neat right?

Sprinting and long, slow efforts both have a place in a well-rounded training program.

Sprints build high-end conditioning, power, and metabolic adaptability in a short amount of time.

Longer, easier sessions build aerobic capacity, support recovery, and help you develop the ability to sustain effort over time.

You don’t have to choose one or follow the latest fitness trend.

Use sprints when time is limited and intensity is the goal;

use longer efforts when you have more time and want to build your aerobic engine.

The best program includes both—along with strength training, mobility, and enough recovery to make it all work.

CrossFit Sudbury/Sudbury School of Fitness has been using these methods for over 15 years. Reach out if you'd like to try the gym! :)

BIG NEWS! 🎓

I’m proud to share that I’ve earned my Certificate of Proficiency in Pediatric and Family Chiropractic!

The training from The Pediatric Experience and Life University focused on advanced levels of Analysis, Case Management, and what’s called the Neuro-Tonal Adjusting 🙌 approach. Now that’s a bunch of nerdy terms and doctor speak, but what it means for you and your family is that every single aspect of the care we provide is now more advanced and thorough than ever before!

I pursued this certification because children aren’t simply smaller adults. Their nervous systems are constantly developing and adapting, and caring for them requires a thoughtful, age-appropriate approach.

This is an important step forward for me and for Real Life Health as we continue creating a place where families feel heard, supported, and confident in the care they receive. Adding the science, steps, and clinical systems from this course will help in 'expecting miracles' for the whole family 😀

I’m incredibly grateful to the team of passionate people at for the education and inspiration—and I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned back to the families of Sudbury. ❤️

If you’re already a patient, slap me a crisp high-five ✋ the next time you see me — and if you’re not yet a patient at Real Life Health, give us a call today and let’s get you and your family rocking your best health 😃 right away!

We talk a lot about how much sleep we get.

But what about when we sleep?

A prospective cohort study looked at sleep regularity in more than 60,000 adults and found that, compared with the least regular sleepers, people with more consistent sleep-wake patterns had lower risks of all-cause, cancer-related, and cardiometabolic mortality.

Most interestingly, sleep regularity was a stronger predictor of all-cause mortality than sleep duration in the researchers’ models.

That doesn’t prove that going to bed at the same time will make you live longer.

But it does suggest that good sleep may be about more than just total hours.

Rhythm matters.

This week, try picking a realistic bedtime and wake time and keep them reasonably consistent—even on the weekend.

You don’t need perfection.

Give your body a rhythm it can rely on.

Benefits begin with as little as 2517 steps in the day, with more accruing as you take more.

Start where you are and try to add more each day.

Do you really need 10,000 steps per day before walking starts to improve your health?

A systematic review and meta-analysis combining 12 studies and more than 111,000 people found that benefits began at a much lower step count than many of us might expect.

Compared with 2,000 daily steps:

🚶 2,517 steps was associated with an approximately 8% lower risk of death from any cause.

❤️ 2,735 steps was associated with an approximately 11% lower risk of experiencing a cardiovascular event.

The greatest estimated benefit for the least effort occurred around 8,763 daily steps for all-cause mortality and 7,126 steps for cardiovascular health. Walking at a quicker pace also appeared to provide added benefit.

Because these were observational studies, they cannot prove that walking alone caused the lower risk—but the overall message is still encouraging:

Every step counts, and you don’t need to reach 10,000 before it begins to matter.

This week, check your current daily average and aim to add 1,000 steps on at least four days.

Take a walk after dinner. Park farther away. Walk during a phone call. Do a few laps around your home or workplace.

Don’t chase perfection. Start from where you are and build.
