No punishment.
No starting over.
No “screw it.”
No waiting for Monday.

Adjust. Return. Keep going.

That is the work.

And THAT is what eventually makes the results sustainable.

Breaking up my usual content with a very important question:

How many pictures does your mom have of you…..

09/30/2026

I STILL HAVE TO DO THE WORK.

that’s one of the biggest things I want my clients to understand:

There is no point where this becomes effortless because you “know enough.”

I’ve been doing this for years.
I know exactly what works.

And I still have to choose it.

Again.
And again.
And again.

My job gave me the knowledge.

My results came from applying it.

“WHAT THE HECK IS MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE?”

Since announcing that I’m now certified in Manual Lymph Drainage, I’ve had a LOT of questions about what it actually is and why you’d want to support your lymphatic system.

So here’s the simple version:

Your lymphatic system is part of your body’s fluid-management AND immune system.
It helps collect excess fluid and proteins from your tissues, moves that fluid through lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes, and eventually returns it back into your bloodstream.
Unlike your cardiovascular system, it doesn’t have one big central pump like your heart. Lymph movement is supported by things like breathing, muscle movement and the natural contractions of the lymphatic vessels themselves.

That’s where MLD comes in.

Manual Lymph Drainage uses incredibly light, slow and rhythmic movements designed to encourage the normal movement of lymphatic fluid.
And yes — we can actually SEE changes in lymph movement after treatment.
One small human imaging study found that apparent lymph velocity increased by approximately 23–28% immediately following MLD, including about 28% in the healthy control group. (Research: Tan IC et al. Arch Phys Med Rehabil. 2011;92(5):756–764. )

BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM?

Your lymphatic and immune systems are closely connected. Lymph carries immune cells and material from your tissues toward your lymph nodes, and those lymph nodes are important places for immune surveillance and immune responses.
That does not mean I’m going to tell you that one MLD treatment “boosts your immune system.”
What I can say is that we are supporting the movement of lymph through a system that plays a very real role in normal immune function.

And just as importantly…

MLD is NOT:

A deep-tissue massage.
A weight-loss treatment.
A way to “melt fat.”
Or some magical “toxin flush.”

It’s gentle, specific bodywork designed to support normal lymphatic flow and fluid movement.

And as an added bonus?

It is ridiculously relaxing.

The more I learn about this system, the cooler I think it is.

WOW!
That filled up fast! OFFICIALLY FULL…accepting clients Oct 15th on

I’m officially certified in Manual Lymph Drainage (this was a re-certification for me) — and now I need 5 practice bodies!

I’m offering 5 full-body MLD treatments for $80 (regular $160) while I build more hands-on experience with this technique.

You’ll need to be available during the daytime next week, with 1–2 appointments available Saturday, October 3.

What is Manual Lymph Drainage?

MLD is a gentle, rhythmic technique designed to encourage the movement of lymphatic fluid through the lymphatic system. The pressure is quite light because much of the lymphatic system we’re targeting lies close to the surface.

MLD may be helpful for:

• Supporting lymphatic flow and fluid movement
• Mild swelling, puffiness or feelings of heaviness
• Supporting recovery when MLD is appropriate
• Helping move excess interstitial fluid back toward circulation
• Promoting relaxation and a calmer nervous-system state

What MLD is NOT

It is not a “detox” treatment, weight-loss or fat-loss treatment, or deep-tissue massage designed to work out knots and muscular tension.

It’s also not appropriate for everyone. Certain medical conditions, acute infections, unexplained swelling, blood clots and some cardiac or kidney conditions may require medical clearance or mean MLD should not be performed.

A proper health screening will be completed before treatment to make sure MLD is appropriate for you.

Want to be one of my 5 practice bodies? Send me a message with your daytime availability next week or whether Saturday works for you.

One year.

Before surgery, I was in pain 24 hours a day. I wasn’t sleeping. I was using a cane. Everything revolved around my hip. And I had tried everything — physio, personal training, injections, rest, modifying everything I did.

Then came surgery.

The pain after was intense, but it was different. It was surgical pain. For the first time in a long time, the pain wasn’t coming from something broken anymore.

I wasn’t prepared for how long, emotional and lonely rehab would be. Progress, setbacks, frustration, tears, tiny wins… and doing the same boring work over and over again.

But I also learned how lucky I am.

My parents came for two weeks and took care of me when I couldn’t take care of myself. My family, friends and everyone who checked in, walked with me, listened to me complain or celebrated the little wins — thank you.❤️

And a special shoutout to Elevation Yoga & Fitness Yoga Amber | Yoga Instructor and Pilates MOVEBYKENNEDY | Pilates X Strength gave me a gentle way back into movement, helped me trust my body again and slowly build the strength I have today.

Then came walking my dogs again. Biking. Hiking. Lifting.

Living.

I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. It was fu***ng hard.

But I learned a lot this year.

Progress is not linear. Your body doesn’t care about the timeline you’ve decided it should follow. Setbacks don’t erase progress. And sometimes the strongest thing you can do is stop fighting where you are, do the boring work in front of you, and trust that all those tiny things are adding up.

A year ago I just wanted my life back.

Today, I realize I didn’t get the exact same life back.

I built my way into a new one.

And I’m really grateful to be here.

Your body doesn’t know it’s Monday.

It also doesn’t know you ate pizza Saturday night.

But somehow we’ve decided that enjoying more food on the weekend requires a punishment phase starting Monday morning.

Skip breakfast.
Cut the carbs.
Drop the calories.
Add cardio.
“Get back on track.”

You don’t need to undo anything.

One restaurant meal is just a restaurant meal.
A vacation is a vacation.
A birthday is a birthday.

Your next move is incredibly boring:

Eat normally again.

Protein. Produce. Enough food. Water. Movement.

No compensation.
No punishment.
No dramatic reset.

The ability to return to normal without overcorrecting is one of the most important skills you can learn.

That’s consistency.

Thank you, GLP-1.
Not for the reason you think.
You lit a fire under my ass.🔥
Somewhere along the way, watching peptides and GLP-1s become the answer to EVERYTHING made me want to find out what I could still do THE OLD FASHIONED WAY.
This is my current “STACK”
Train.
Eat enough protein.
Walk a lot.
Sleep.
Recover.
Be consistent.
Repeat when it’s boring.

And damn.

I’m getting leaner.
I’m stronger.
I’m sleeping better.
My energy is better.
My mood is better.
I have less pain.
And I feel more like myself.

Please note: GLP-1 medications absolutely have a place, and when they’re medically indicated, that conversation belongs between someone and their healthcare provider. ❤️

But for me?

Turns out the thing I needed was a little “challenge accepted” motivation.

So sincerely…
thank you, GLP-1.
Saying NO to you
accidentally became my pre-workout.💪

One of the most underrated fat-loss skills has nothing to do with calories.
It’s making decisions BEFORE you’re hungry, tired and pi**ed off.

What are you having for dinner tonight?

What are you eating after work when you’re starving?

What are you taking for the eight-hour drive?

Have you looked at the restaurant menu?

Do you have protein in the house that takes less than five minutes to make?

This isn’t obsessive.
It’s removing unnecessary decisions.
The people who are consistent aren’t walking around with superhuman willpower.
They’ve just stopped expecting their exhausted 6 PM brain to make every decision for them.
Make the decision earlier.
Make the better choice easier.
That’s a strategy you can actually repeat.
