Hello Collagen ✨️

One of the most interesting things about treatments like microneedling, laser resurfacing + professional chemical peels is that your treatment doesn’t end when you leave your appointment.

Collagen remodeling is a gradual process that happens beneath the surface of the skin.

When controlled stimulation or injury reaches the dermis, the skin begins a repair response that includes the production and reorganization of collagen. This process continues over time, which is why results can keep developing for weeks to months after treatment.

With chemical peels, depth matters!

Superficial peels work primarily within the epidermis and are great for supporting cellular turnover, tone and texture. As peel depth increases and reaches deeper layers of the skin, there is greater potential to stimulate dermal repair and collagen remodeling.

So while chemical peels can be part of a collagen-focused treatment plan, not every peel creates the same remodeling response.

Depending on the treatment and depth, we may see gradual improvements in:
✨ Fine lines
✨ Skin texture
✨ Acne scarring
✨ Firmness + elasticity
✨ Overall skin quality

And remember, more aggressive doesn’t automatically mean better. Treatment depth should be intentional and appropriate for the skin, the concern being treated and the desired outcome.

MICRONEEDLING: PROGRESSIVE vs. AGGRESSIVE ✨

Not every microneedling treatment needs to be aggressive, or bloody to deliver results.

Microneedling creates a controlled wound-healing response, and treatment intensity should be based on your skin, your concerns and the results we're working toward.

PROGRESSIVE MICRONEEDLING 🤍
For routine rejuvenation and maintenance, the goal is consistent, controlled erythema, a pink/red flushed appearance indicating an appropriate treatment response.

Perfect for improving overall texture, fine lines, skin quality and uneven tone while supporting long-term skin health.

AGGRESSIVE / CORRECTIVE MICRONEEDLING 🔥
For concerns such as established acne scarring or more significant texture, treatment may be more targeted and intensive. Pinpoint bleeding may be an appropriate endpoint, but more bleeding does not automatically mean better results.

A progressive treatment plan, and strategically incorporating other modalities such as chemical peels or laser treatments when appropriate will allow us to target different concerns without relying on excessive trauma from one treatment.
