A tan will always make an outfit better, I promise ๐๐ค
But letโs talk about this tan.
Hannah already had a pretty decent summer tan, so the goal wasnโt to make her dramatically darker. It was to enhance what she already had, even out her skin tone and give her skin that healthy, glowy finish โจ
She only had to marinate for 2 hours, and I personally think it gave her the perfect amount of colour.
Sometimes the perfect spray tan isnโt about going darker. Itโs about making your skin look smooth, even, healthy and naturally sun-kissed. Like you, just a little more golden. ๐ค

A spray tan isnโt one-size-fits-all โ and itโs definitely not like picking a paint colour and expecting your skin to come out that exact shade.
The final result depends largely on ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐๐ธ๐ถ๐ป and how it reacts to the solution.
As your spray tan artist, I can choose different solution depths, undertones and bronzers to help customize your colour, but I canโt know exactly how your skin is going to develop until we actually tan it.
Thatโs where trials become so important.
We did multiple trials leading up to her wedding โ not because we were unhappy with any of her tans, but because we were ๐ณ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ-๐๐๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ.
She used her bridal shower, bachelorette, hair and makeup trials and other wedding events as opportunities to test her tan.
Each appointment gave me more information:
* How dark does her skin naturally develop with this solution?
* Does she pull warmer or cooler?
* Do we want to go slightly lighter or deeper?
* How does the colour photograph?
* How does it look with her dress and bridal makeup?
By her wedding day, we werenโt experimenting. We already knew what her skin liked and exactly what direction we wanted to go.

This gorgeous client is going to be one of the bride models for an upcoming styled shoot at Aurora Valley Venue | Northern BC Wedding Venue with Alyx Andrekson | Wedding Planner & Coordinator and Wedding Photography & Videography BC & ๐ โ and since Iโve never tanned her before, I wanted her in my studio for a trial first.
Not only did it give me the chance to see how her skin takes colour and make sure we choose the perfect shade for the shootโฆ it also gave us a chance to work out a few prep details beforehand.
Like maybeeee not shaving your legs immediately before your spray tan ๐
For a shoot like this, there will be multiple photographers capturing and editing her in their own style, different lighting, different settings โ so I want her tan to enhance her skin without overpowering her or photographing too warm, too dark or unnatural.
And this is something I tell my clients all the time:
Your wedding tan, Mexico tan, winter tan and everyday/event tan should not necessarily be the same tan.
The perfect colour depends on your skin, undertone, what youโre wearing, the lighting, the event, how you naturally tan and so much more.
Thatโs why a custom spray tan is so much more than choosing light, medium or dark โ and why for the really important events, a trial is always worth it. ๐ค
