Sorry that I have wavered from posting about my journey the last few months. I’ve been at a crossroads with some added stress causing my health to go downhill, then I took a small break from carnivore as a bit of a test. The test proved that being on carnivore is the best choice for my health and pain level. But the bad thing is that it messed up my carb cravings so bad. When I started on this journey I had a great support system at work. Others who were on carnivore, some on Keto, and they all cheered me on as I went. When I lost that, and lost the routine I had, it’s like it all fell apart. Living in the temp life I have with my job with the City of Edmonton has me changing routines and positions constantly. I am good with change in my work life, but what I didn’t realize that those changes in routines is not working well with my health/diet life. But i also now realize that I need to keep posting here, and use this platform to hold myself accountable in order to get back on track.
Here is my Costco find. A chuck flat iron steak pack for $80. It comes with four really large steaks that I cut into $9 steaks. Working out to be less than $9 per steak. And the meat is delicious and so tender. Love it. Better than grocery store steaks by far.
My first steak box from Modern Pastures. $269 for 14 steaks. 5 ribeye, 3 strip loins, 3 top sirloins and 3 tenderloins. Making it less than $20 per steak. And ribeyes and strip loins are usually at least $30 per steak. So I think it’s a good deal. I’ll see once I try them. I’m still working on my Costco chuck steaks from another video for now. That was only $9 per steak and really nice tasting and tenderness.
Watching videos by meat dad on tiktok I learned that buying a chuck roll is a less expensive way to get better quality steaks for less. I have yet to find one, but I did find these chuck flat iron steaks at Costco. These 3kg of meat were cut into 4 huge steaks. I was able to cut them down to meal size and made 9 steaks out of them. I ate one today from the air fryer and it was delicious and so tender. Such a good buy.

Are you experiencing a plateau in your weight loss on the carnivore diet? This is what is happening to me. I started the diet on Jan 6, 2025 and in my first 6 months I lost 50 pounds, my health improved drastically, my arthritis pain was less than it had been in years with no new flare ups, and I had more energy than I ever had in my life. Then the second half of the year, I have had no weightloss, a slight decrease in my energy but still better than before, and a bit more pain. Most of my pain is from past damage though, not from new flare ups. But I stay true to the diet, because if I sway from it and eat carbs, I feel the pain come back ten fold overnight. So I know this is still the best way for me to eat, but I couldn't understand why I can't get my weight to budge since.

Where's the Beef? Check out my blog for a comparison to Meat box options. Grocery stores are getting so high priced, and it is hit or miss if the quality of the meat is good. So I am looking into where to buy from local farms and in a bigger quantity to get a better price. Up until now, I was buying every few days from the Grocery stores in my area so that I could eat fresh and unfrozen meat...but it is a lot of money for mediocre quality.
