Bare chests of all kinds are now welcome at public swimming pools in Edmonton — but only adults or minors accompanied by their parents.
Swimwear policies for Edmonton’s indoor and outdoor public pools changed last summer in hopes of making them more inclusive and to reflect Alberta’s human rights laws. This wasn’t widely communicated at the time, but the city’s recreation website was updated in June 2022 to say: “All patrons are permitted to go topless in city-operated pools if they so wish.”
