Round two of the reminder that great bridal makeup should never feel like a costume.
Every before-and-after we post has the same goal: you looking at the after and immediately recognizing yourself. That’s soft glam, done right, every single time.

As a teenager, I was doing my friends’ makeup for pretend photoshoots on our parents’ film cameras.
I trained under a working makeup artist, worked on a popular niche Youtube show, and got to see a few of my own faces land in print. None of that changes the real reason I still do this: the moment a bride looks in the mirror and actually recognizes herself, just glowier.

One message like this and the whole week is worth it.
One of our brides told us the morning felt calm despite the rain and the nerves, and that her look held up through hours of tears and dancing.
That’s the goal, every time.
Not just a good photo, a day that actually felt good to be in.
If you’re a past bride reading this, send us your favorite memory from the morning. We might feature it.

Some brides want a clean, timeless face. Some want a soft flush and a fairytale glow.
Some want a little more edge in the liner.
Same technique, same longevity, completely different result depending on who’s in the chair.
Which one is closest to your vision? Tell me in the comments.

Truth: Waterproof helps, but it’s not the whole plan. False lashes, a proper primer, and setting spray in the right order do more of the heavy lifting than one product ever could.
Ask me about this at your Preview. I have opinions.
Save this before your trial appointment.
Every bride tells me the same thing afterward. She doesn't remember what time her appointment started. She remembers how she felt sitting in that chair.
That's the part nobody puts in a portfolio.

An unpopular opinion from your soft glam girl: your wedding day is not the day to try your boldest look for the first time.
Trial day is for boldness. Wedding day is for looking like the most confident version of yourself in every photo for the next fifty years. That’s not boring. That’s the whole point.
Tell me your unpopular beauty opinion in the comments.

Close enough to see every lash is exactly how a bridal look should hold up.
The best compliment isn’t “your makeup looks nice.” It’s “you look like yourself, just camera-ready.”
That only happens with the small stuff: blended edges, a lash line that disappears into your own, skin that photographs like skin.
This is the detail work behind every “still looks like you” comment I get.
Save this for your moodboard.

Your wedding makeup starts 6-8 months before your wedding day, not the morning of.
A great base is built long before I ever touch a brush. Skin prep is the part nobody sees but everyone notices. Here’s the timeline I hand every bride at her trial.
Save this so you have it when your countdown starts.

The part of the wedding morning nobody puts in the highlight reel isn’t the veil moment. It’s the fifteen minutes before it.
The room is loud, someone’s mom is already crying, someone’s holding a coffee they haven’t touched yet.
That’s the morning I actually love being part of, not just the finished face, but the whole calm-in-the-chaos of it.
Nineteen years in and that feeling never gets old.
