IT’S ALL HAPPENING!!!!! 🎶💜

The gates open this afternoon and the 10th Cultivate Festival Cultivate Festival is officially here.

And I am SO excited!!!!

I’ve loved Cultivate from the other side of the experience for years, and this weekend I get to be a tiny part of helping create it.

There are so many people behind what happens in that field this weekend. People who have spent months planning, organizing, building, creating, coordinating, problem-solving, volunteering and pouring a whole lot of care into making a place where people can simply come together. I had NO IDEA all the moving parts and it’s a honour to see the machine come to life and learn from all these dedicated folks. 💜

Music. Art. Food. Kids running around. Workshops. Farm hangs. Familiar faces and people you haven’t met yet. A patch of grass where you can sit for a while and just… be.

💜 THIS IS COMMUNITY 💜

And somehow, I get to add my own little piece of care to all of that this year which feels pretty special.

If you’ve been thinking about coming but haven’t made plans yet, you absolutely still can!!!!

Friday night kicks things off with Terra Lightfoot Terra Lightfoot , Melissa Payne Melissa Payne and the Jimmy Bowskill Band Jimmy Bowskill , followed by an after party with Canada.Gov.Ca After party!!!!!

AND THEN…. we get TWO full days together Saturday and Sunday. 🎉

And one of my favourite things about Cultivate:

It’s Pay What You Can. And, yes, that includes $0.

Kids 18 and under are free, too.

Come for music you already love.
Discover some you’ve never heard before!

Bring the kids. Bring your parents. Eat something delicious. Make some art! Wander around the farm. Find a spot in the grass and stay awhile.

And somewhere in there, maybe you’ll find one of my little invitations to pause, too. 💜

I’m incredibly grateful for all the humans who make this weekend happen, and ridiculously excited to be one of them this year.

I am all for accountability absolutely always, but we are in a time in this existence that assumptions lead to distraction and division amongst those on the same side…

I do not have all the answers, but my guiding intention in all things is:

DO NO INTENTIONAL HARM.
To myself or to others.
And if harm is caused… be accountable, learn, connect and then try again. 💜

I want EVERY HUMAN on this earth to be safe, secure, loved, cared for and valued… and that is what we practice in treatment and what I try to practice in my life.

People who are cared for are better equipped to care for others. That’s how we MAKE CARE CONTAGIOUS… 🫶🏻💜

Heavy times call for heavy music. 🤘💜

Today at the gym we lifted and listened heavier than usual... some days I love me some in the morning. 🤘🏻💪💜

Sometimes regulation doesn’t sound like soft music and deep breaths… Sometimes it’s LOUD. Heavy. A little angry.

Turns out, there’s some pretty interesting neuroscience behind why the music that sounds chaotic to one nervous system can actually help another one regulate!
