Today, we honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and acknowledge the enduring impact of the residential school system on indigenous communities across Canada.
We honour the children who never returned home, Survivors, their families and communities, and the generations who continue to carry these experiences.
Today is an opportunity to listen, learn and reflect, and to recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing journey that calls for continued understanding, respect and action.

I know we post a lot about sustainable fashion these days, but Fox & Thistle Mercantile is an eco-conscious general store, which means we carry so much more than fashion.

This week’s project actually took two weeks to complete, but I’m pretty happy with the ends results. This one is on the rack at the shop, so head over there to try it on and make it yours - it is one of a kind and I don’t think I have enough of this fabric to make another one just like it. (But I will probably make more of these in other fabrics and colours).
