The Home Studio Is Taking Over… + A New Service Is Coming
A little drive-home update after another full day. 🙏
The home studio has been getting BUSY.
I’m down to only a handful of blocks at the clinic each week, and I’m looking at closing another clinic day soon. It’s pretty wild watching something I started at home continue to grow like this.
And apparently when a client reschedules, life has other plans… because I drove past a carnival and immediately thought, well, I guess I know where I’m taking the kids. 😂
But there’s another update coming too.
I’m working on adding pre-event sports massage as a service.
I’ve had more active clients asking:
“Should I get a massage before my game?”
The answer is: the type of massage matters.
The slower, deeper work I normally provide is designed more around decreasing tension, settling things down and supporting recovery.
That’s not necessarily what I want to do right before you need to run, lift, compete or perform.
Pre-event work has a different purpose—shorter, more stimulating techniques designed to prepare you for movement rather than leave you feeling like you want a nap.
Different goal. Different approach.
More details on that service coming soon.
And to everyone who continues booking, rebooking, referring friends and supporting my home studio—thank you.
You’re the reason it keeps growing.

Pain Does Not Need More Pain
One of our VIPs came in with long-term neck and low back pain.
He shared that in the past, some massage treatments left him in unbearable pain for weeks. Pain that affected his breathing. Pain that made him hesitant to trust deep work again.
On our first session, I had to reduce pressure in certain areas because his body was guarding hard.
We are now three sessions in.
Today, the same pressure did not trigger the same guarding response it did on day one.
That is progress.
Not because we forced through the pain.
Not because we chased the “deepest” pressure possible.
But because we respected what the body was ready for.
Deep pressure should still be controlled.
Therapeutic work should still be intentional.
And a body that is already inflamed, irritated, and in pain does not need more pain added on top.
It needs the right pressure, the right pacing, and enough safety for the nervous system to let go.
This is my method: gentler, controlled, still deep enough to create change, but not so aggressive that the body has to fight back.
Three sessions in, and we are seeing progress with every visit.

Message me to book.
Everyone is talking about the technique.
They’re talking about the massage method, the release, the stretch, the trigger point, the cupping—the thing that “fixes” the problem.
But not enough people are talking about what helps keep the progress.
Massage can decrease sensitivity, reduce tension, and help you move more comfortably.
But what happens between your appointments matters.
That’s one reason I like the rowing machine.
Rowing combines cardiovascular conditioning with repeated scapular movement while building strength and endurance through the upper back, lats, rear shoulders, and posterior chain.
For someone who spends hours driving, working at a computer, looking at a phone, or simply living with their arms in front of them, that capacity matters.
Because sometimes a muscle doesn’t keep feeling tight because it needs another aggressive release.
Sometimes it needs to become more capable of handling the demands you're putting on it.
Massage helps create the opportunity for change.
Movement helps you maintain it.
Strength helps you become more resilient.
Don’t just chase tension.
Build a body that can better handle the life you’re asking it to live.

One year in business. A full day of massage. And now… laundry. 😂
There’s something funny about this part of the job.
Normally, laundry is just another chore. Something repetitive that needs to get done.
But at the end of a long day in my home studio, I actually look at this pile a little differently.
Every sheet. Every towel. Every load represents someone who trusted me with their body, their stress, their tension, their aches and pains, and their time.
So tonight and every laundry run here after, isn’t monotony.
It’s gratitude.
It’s a reminder of how much this little home studio has grown over the past year and how many people I’ve had the opportunity to serve along the way.
The business is doing well. I’m doing work that I genuinely love. And apparently, doing a LOT of laundry. 😂
Year one is almost in the books.
I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has booked, rebooked, left a review, referred someone, or simply supported Lucky Nghi RMT.
Now let’s see what Year Two brings. 🙏
Back to the laundry. 🧺💆♂️

When the wrong muscles take over, the body pays the price.
A lot of aches and pains don't start where you feel them.
When a primary muscle becomes weak or stops doing its job, the body adapts by recruiting other muscles to compensate. This is called synergistic dominance.
A common example: ➡️ Weak or underactive glutes ➡️ Tight hip flexors and hamstrings take over ➡️ Less strength, more fatigue, and a greater risk of overuse injuries.
This is why simply massaging the painful area isn't always enough. As an RMT, I'm always looking for why a muscle is overworking—not just where it hurts.
By addressing the underlying imbalance through targeted massage, movement, stretching, and muscle activation, we can help restore better movement and reduce unnecessary strain.
Your body is incredibly smart. It will always find a way to get the job done—but not always the most efficient way.

💆 Helping you move better, hurt less, and recover with purpose.
Sometimes the people we love carry more tension than they realize.
This is a simple quad massage you can do for your partner, spouse, or family member after a long day on their feet, an intense workout, a hike, a run, or simply from hours of standing, walking, or chasing the kids around.
You don't need a fancy setup to help someone feel a little better. A few minutes of thoughtful touch can help reduce muscle tension, encourage relaxation, and let them know they're cared for.
Recovery doesn't always have to happen in a clinic. Sometimes it starts at home, with the people who matter most.
❤️ Save this for the next time someone you love says, "My legs are killing me."

Lower back pain doesn't always start in the lower back.
One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that the painful area is always the area that needs treatment.
If you've spent hours sitting at a desk, driving, or commuting, your hip flexors can become shortened over time. That changes the position of your pelvis, increases stress on the lower back, and can leave you feeling stiff or painful every time you stand up.
But that's only one possibility.
The source of pain could also involve the glutes, hamstrings, core, or even muscles on the opposite side of the body. That's why assessment matters.
My goal isn't to chase symptoms—it's to identify what's creating them and treat the body as a connected system.
If you're tired of temporary relief and want treatment focused on the cause, send me a message or book your session.
Real assessment. Real treatment. Real results.
