The goal of our business is to create a cutting edge approach to any physiological problem, starting from recovering from an injury and to overall health

Sergey Raiter has helped hundreds of people eliminate their chronic pain and regain their mobility through his advanced manual manipulation massage therapy treatment. Sergey’s greatest joy in life comes from helping his patients return to their normal pain-free lives, and it was his own battle with chronic pain that led to him becoming a therapist.

One side of your body can start doing too much work when the other side stops sharing the load.

That is usually where manual osteopathy starts looking first. We check how you move, where you compensate, and which muscles are taking over so your body is not fighting itself.

The goal is simple. Less strain. Better balance. More comfortable movement.

Chronic pain is not always a sign of damage.

Sometimes, pain sticks around because your nervous system stays protective long after the original issue has settled. That changes how treatment should look. You need a plan that helps calm the system, restore movement, and address what is driving the discomfort.

At Orthosports Calgary, that starts with assessment, then targeted treatment, then a plan to help you keep making progress.

Do you tense up the second someone starts pressing hard?

Deep tissue therapy can be adjusted. Good treatment should meet your tolerance, not force you through pain.

At Orthosports, that usually means slower pressure, better communication, and a focus on the areas that actually need release.

Do your sensitive areas tense up when someone uses heavy pressure?

Microcurrent Point Stimulation uses gentle electrical impulses to work on spots that do not tolerate deep touch well. It is a targeted option for pain relief and nervous system balance, without asking the tissue to take more than it can handle.

For some people, that means a calmer treatment session and less guarding in the area they have been protecting.

A sore spot is often doing double duty.

What feels like the problem can be your body compensating for something else.

That’s why chasing the tender area alone sometimes gives you temporary relief, then the same issue shows up again somewhere else.

In clinic, we see this all the time. A client comes in focused on one spot, but the real driver is often a different joint, tendon, or movement pattern that’s been getting ignored.

That’s the part people miss. Pain is not always the loudest clue. Sometimes it’s the place that’s working overtime because another area isn’t doing its share.

When that happens, treatment has to start with assessment, not guessing. You need to find the source of the compensation pattern before you try to calm the symptom.

That is exactly why Orthosports uses an assessment first approach, then targeted treatment, then preventative maintenance. It gives the body a chance to stop overworking one area just to protect another.

If you’ve been treating the same sore spot and it keeps coming back, the next step is simple: book an assessment.

Still dealing with concussion symptoms that seem to hang on longer than you expected?

That can feel frustrating, especially when you’re trying to get back to work, training, or just normal life. A careful recovery plan starts with understanding what’s still being triggered, then choosing the right support for your body.

At Orthosports Calgary, concussion recovery care is approached with that same patient-first mindset: assess, treat, and build a path forward with clarity.

Your hip pain might not be starting at the hip.

A lot of people chase the sore spot and miss the real driver. The low back and pelvis can change how force moves through the body, and the hip ends up taking the hit.

That is why a good assessment looks beyond the painful area. If the lumbar spine or pelvis is stiff, rotated, or not controlling movement well, the hip often has to work harder to compensate.

I see this a lot in people who sit for long hours, train through discomfort, or keep stretching the hip without lasting relief. The pattern is usually the same. The hip feels guilty, but it may just be doing extra work.

A simple way to think about it:
- low back and pelvis set the position
- the hip follows that position
- pain shows up where the load gets concentrated

That is also why treatment often needs to start with the bigger picture. Manual therapy, targeted mobility work, and core control can all help restore better mechanics so the hip is not carrying the whole problem alone.

If your hip pain keeps coming back, it may be worth looking at the back and pelvis first.

A lot of people think tightness is always a muscle problem.

Sometimes it’s joint stiffness. The clue is often how it feels. Muscle tightness usually eases a bit when you warm up. Joint stiffness tends to feel deeper, more stubborn, and less likely to change with a quick stretch.

If your pain keeps showing up the same way, a proper assessment can help you figure out what’s actually driving it.

Why your body can feel weak after an injury, even when the muscle isn’t torn.

Pain and weakness can come from swelling, protective tension, and the way your nervous system starts guarding the area. That can make normal movement feel harder, even when the tissue itself is intact.

Deep tissue work helps by easing the tight layers around the injury so your body can move with less restriction.

Pain that changes when you rest, but not when you move, is worth paying attention to.

That pattern can tell you something useful. If movement doesn’t change the pain, the issue may not be about stiffness alone. If rest makes it feel different, your body may be reacting to load, position, irritation, or how the tissue is recovering after activity.

What matters most is the trend.

A few simple questions help:
- Does it calm down after you stop, or does it linger?
- Does it feel the same at the start of movement and after you warm up?
- Does it get sharper, more spread out, or more sensitive later in the day?

If pain is getting worse with rest, or showing up more strongly after the session, that’s a sign to back off and reassess. If it stays steady, predictable, and manageable, that gives you more useful information than guessing and pushing harder.

This is why assessment matters. Good care starts by figuring out what your body is actually doing, then choosing the right next step instead of forcing range for the sake of it.

At Orthosports, that means looking at the full picture first, then matching treatment to the response you’re getting. Sometimes the safest move is to modify the position. Sometimes it’s to reduce the range. Sometimes it’s to stop chasing the end range entirely and build tolerance more gradually.
