đź’— This one is for the fighters & warriors.

For the woman sitting in a treatment room trying to be brave.

For the mom who keeps showing up for her family even when she’s exhausted.

For the woman looking in the mirror and wondering if she’ll ever feel like herself again.

For the survivor learning how to live beyond cancer.

And for every person quietly carrying fear, uncertainty and hope all at once.

This one is for Heather. Peggy. Lisa. Heather. Tatiana. Nola. Ashley. Shelli. Fran. Cathy. Darlene. All of my clients, friends, and family who have been fighting.

October 4, I’ll be running the CIBC Run for the Cure for YOU. 🎀

I believe that supporting someone through cancer isn’t only about medicine. It’s about compassion. It’s about research. It’s about support. It’s about reminding people that they are not alone.

If you can donate, I would be incredibly grateful.

Even a small donation can become part of something much bigger when we all come together. đź’•

đź”— Please visit the donation link in my bio.

Let’s walk together for brighter tomorrows. 🌸

It’s almost time…. Only a couple weeks to go until the run. Thanks to everyone who has already donated. There is a link in my bio or you can scan the code to go directly to my donation page. Donations stay local to help those navigating cancer with things like parking passes, healthy meals, wigs, and larger donations to fund research for ongoing advances in therapy and understanding this disease.

🎀 I’m walking for more than a finish line. I’m walking for hope. 🎀

On October 4, I’ll be taking part in the CIBC Run for the Cure because breast cancer has touched far too many lives.

I’m walking for the women who are currently fighting.
For the women who have heard the words, “You have cancer.”
For the survivors who have fought their way through treatment.
For the families standing beside them.
And for the beautiful people we’ve lost who should still be here. 💗

As an esthetician trained in oncology esthetics, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. It has changed the way I see beauty, strength and what it truly means to care for someone.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps move us closer to better treatments, better support and, ultimately, a future where fewer families have to hear those devastating words.

💕 If you’re able, please consider making a donation.

đź”— Donation link in Linktree in my bio or direct link posted on my fb page.

Thank you for helping me turn every step into a little more hope. 🎀

🤎 With Gratitude, Respect & Awareness 🤎

As a small business owner living and working in Calgary, I feel it’s important to recognize and respect the Indigenous peoples and cultures connected to the land we are fortunate to live on.

I am continually learning about Indigenous history, culture, traditions, art and the stories that have shaped this community. For me, awareness is about listening, learning, showing respect and supporting Indigenous voices and creators. ❤️

I’m also honoured to be able to support one of my clients who creates beautiful handmade Indigenous-inspired jewelry. Each piece is thoughtfully handcrafted and reflects incredible time, patience, creativity and care.

✨ These beautiful pieces are now available for purchase at Scarlet Edge Beauty.

If you’d like to see the jewelry, come check it out in person during your next visit, or send me a message and I’d be happy to provide details and answer any questions.

Supporting local artists and celebrating creativity within our community is something I’m proud to be a part of. 🤎

Always learning. Always listening. Always grateful.

When Nail Care Becomes Comfort ❤️

Providing nail care for someone in the hospital is about so much more than simply trimming and shaping nails.

There are often many things to consider first:
🩺 What health conditions are we working around?
đź’Š Have there been any new medications?
👩‍⚕️ Do we have permission from the doctor or care team?
🏥 Am I permitted to provide services in this area of the hospital?
❤️ Is the client comfortable and well enough for the service today?

Safety always comes first.

And sometimes, it’s a family member who reaches out and asks for nail care or a gentle pedicure for their loved one.

Because when someone is in the hospital, so much can feel completely out of their control.

Their health. Their schedule. Their independence. Their daily routines.

But something as simple as having their nails cared for can give them a little piece of normalcy back.

A warm towel. Gentle care. A little conversation. Clean, comfortable hands or feet.

For a short time, they aren’t just a patient.

They’re simply a person being cared for. ❤️

If I can safely and appropriately provide that little bit of comfort, I’m honoured to do it. Reach out to me if I can help.

Nail Care With Dementia: Patience First đź’—

When caring for someone living with dementia, nail and foot care isn’t always as simple as booking an appointment and getting the job done.

Some days are good days. đź’•
Some days are a struggle.
And some days, the kindest thing I can do is cancel the appointment and come back another day.

And that’s okay.

A familiar environment, gentle conversation, patience and kindness can make all the difference. Sometimes a client may be anxious, confused, tired, or simply not comfortable with having their hands or feet touched that day.

My goal is never to rush through an appointment just to get it finished. Their comfort, dignity and safety come first. Always.

Nail care for clients living with dementia takes more than skill—it takes understanding, flexibility and a whole lot of compassion. 🩷

Because sometimes the best treatment we can provide is simply saying:

“Today isn’t the day. That’s okay. I’ll see you another time.” 🌷

Understanding your Skin: Cleansing

Conventional cleansing strips skin of its natural oils, acid mantle, and microbial residents, then tries to replace what was lost with occlusive, synthetic ingredients. Foam, tightness, and sheen feel like signs of “clean” and “effective,” but they’re actually signs the barrier has been stripped away.

Over time, this drives barrier disruption, microbiome imbalance, and premature ageing, trapping clients in a cycle of product dependency they can’t step away from without a harsh detox reaction.

With advanced education with Esse, I have learned the approach is the opposite: cleanse only when necessary, and preserve what matters rather than strip and replace it. This protects the barrier, supports the microbiome, and reduces inflammation.

🤔 How often do you cleanse your skin? It often starts with tweaking your routine, so you can see the impact for yourself. If you’re interested in seeing how this might help preserve and protect your skin, let’s chat.
