my least favourite types of question to answer 👇🏻
And it’s NOT because I don’t want to help you, because I DO! But I think there is a disservice to giving you an answer without giving you this context first.
The pigment I grab, the needle I chose, and the machine I decide to use is not the same for every client.
You can take the exact same formula and run it on two different people and your results WILL be different.
This industry loves handing out rinse-and-repeat methods when what it should be teaching is critical thinking.
Theory matters, you need the foundation. 1000% but the actual skill is knowing how to read the skin in front of you and adjust from there. every single time.
so when someone asks me “what’s the pigment” or “what’s the machine,” the honest answer is: it depends. and if someone tells you it doesn’t, i’d question that advice.
this is exactly why i built the Lip Blush Client-Ready System, it’s not a formula to copy. it’s how to actually think through every client that sits in your chair, so you’re never guessing.

Lying about your lip blush results with ai generated photos is shooting yourself in the foot and doing yourself and your business a disservice.
the amount of FULLY edited, ai-touched-up pmu content on my feed right now is actually wild.
the problem with “perfection” is that clients start thinking THAT is what their lip blush is supposed to look like and that’s just not reality.
Annnd it’s a bit tacky, not gonna lie.
People are going to start looking at our industry as fake if Artists keep doing stuff like this. Clients are starting to see it, and I promise its not a good look
You know it, I know it, but there are still people in this industry creating a false idea of what their results are supposed to look like with ai.
Your social media posts are teaching future clients what to expect before they ever sit in your chair, so don’t make it harder on yourself by faking it.
anyways, that’s my ted talk. are you all seeing this too? can you make a promise to stop/never do this?

The client in front of you should change the way you work.
This client wanted the softest lip blush result possible. Nothing bold or overly saturated. Just a cleaner border, a little more balance and a very sheer wash of colour.
So every decision I made, from the manual outline to the level of dilution, needle choice and amount of saturation, was based on HER lips and HER goal.
That is why a rinse-and-repeat technique does not always work.
You can follow the exact same steps, use the exact same pigment and make the exact same number of passes on every client, but you are not going to get the right result for every person.
The goal is not to memorize one way of doing lip blush.
It is to understand what you are doing well enough to adjust it.

If your lip blush healed results aren’t as consistent as you’d like them to be, this might be something you’ve overlooked.
Before you assume it’s your technique or the pigment you chose, take a look at whether you’re pre-numbing.
When you pre-numb, the tissue can change. (Notice I said “can” 😏 Every client reacts differently, so this definitely isn’t universal.)
That means your pressure can feel different. Your depth can feel different. Even the way the needle moves through the lips can change.
The tricky part is that you’re making decisions based on tissue that isn’t necessarily behaving the way it normally would.
Then the lips heal... and the healed result doesn’t always match what you thought you created.
I switched to my technique over a decade ago, and it changed everything about how my work heals.
For me, it meant less swelling, more predictable healed results, and pigment that retained much more consistently because I was working on tissue that behaved the same way throughout the procedure.
Do you pre-numb your lip blush clients?
If you do, have you ever experimented without it? If you don’t, what made you stop?
I want to hear what you’ve experienced 👇🏻
The reason your client feels like her lips have shrunk has nothing to do with volume. And the fix is not what she thinks it is.
As we age it seems like our lips get smaller, and yes, we do lose some volume with age but what really makes it noticeable is the edge of the lips. as we age, we slowly lose definition along the border.
The tone goes uneven. The colour fades. And suddenly lips that used to look full and defined just look like they have disappeared.
This is the conversation most artists are not having with their clients. Not because they do not care, because they do not know how to frame it. And a client who does not understand what is actually happening to her lips is never going to understand why lip blush is the answer.
When you can sit across from her and explain this clearly, when you can show her a result like this and help her see herself in it, that conversation books the appointment every single time.
This is exactly the kind of client education that lives inside the Lip Blush Client Ready System. Not just how to do the service, how to talk about it in a way that makes the right clients immediately say YES!
