If extensions are not the right fit for you, or if the look you want would require more weight or tension than your natural hair can safely support, I will be honest with you. Even if that means turning down the appointment.

I would much rather recommend a different option than perform a service I do not believe will look good or be healthy for your hair.

According to the authors, most people fall into one of three main attachment styles: secure, anxious or avoidant. Your attachment style can affect how comfortable you are with intimacy, how you communicate your needs and how you react when you feel uncertain or disconnected from your partner.

As I read the descriptions, I found myself relating most closely to the secure attachment style. I generally feel comfortable expressing my needs, giving and receiving love, and allowing space for honest communication. Of course, none of us responds perfectly in every situation, but it was interesting to recognize many secure qualities in myself.

A very insightful read for anyone who wants to better understand love, connection and relationship dynamics. ❤️

This long weekend is officially turning into a full-on meal-prep marathon! 👩🏽‍🍳🍱

I have been meal prepping on and off for years, but lately, I’ve been leaning heavily into my air-fryer queen era. 😂 This weekend, however, I’m taking things to a whole new level!

I’m off work for the next three days, so I plan to prepare enough food to last us the entire month. I have plenty of glass containers, two deep freezers and a very ambitious menu. The goal is to make everything from lunches and dinners to breakfast foods and snacks, then portion it all out so we can simply grab, reheat and eat.

This teriyaki salmon and broccoli meal is one I prepared for my oldest son a while ago. I packed it into individual portions, making it super easy for him to take out a container whenever he needed a quick meal. Having homemade food ready in the freezer is honestly so convenient, especially on those extra-busy days.

So, if you’re looking for me this weekend, I’ll probably be somewhere between the grocery store, the kitchen, the air fryer, the barbecue, and the deep freezer. You can call me Freezer Mommy! 😂❄️🍱

Pro tip: For the best results, I love reheating my meal-prep meals in the oven. I’m not a huge fan of the microwave because I find that food tastes so much better when it’s warmed in the oven.

I also love using glass containers for meal prep because they can go in both the freezer and the oven. I have so many glass containers in different sizes. I can literally take a container out of the freezer and warm up in the oven. So convenient! 👩🏽‍🍳❄️

Just make sure your containers are freezer- and oven-safe, and avoid placing ice-cold glass directly into a fully preheated oven, as sudden temperature changes can cause it to crack.

15 weeks of hair growth, and her extensions still held up beautifully! 😍👏🏽

Jhing came in for her last maintenance appointment on April 15, just before leaving for a three-month trip. She spent time in the Philippines, Korea and a few other places, exploring and visiting family. ✈️🌴

She did not want anyone overseas touching her extensions, so she waited until she returned to Calgary for me to do her maintenance. 😂

She landed at 11:00 p.m., and by 10:00 the next morning (yesterday), she was already sitting in my salon chair!

I was so impressed by how well her extensions held up, especially after swimming in the ocean and enjoying all kinds of vacation activities. She took amazing care of them, and her natural hair and scalp were both in great condition. 🙌🏽

I removed the extensions, gave both her natural hair and extensions a wash and deep-conditioning treatment, and reinstalled everything.

I have been doing Jhing’s hair since 2022, so honestly, I am not too surprised. She always takes excellent care of her hair. 💕
