Cuticle or eponychium? Most people cut the wrong one.

The cuticle is dead skin that sits flat on the plate. You remove that.
The eponychium is living skin. You never cut that.

Get this wrong and you get red, sore, lifting-prone nails. Get it right and you get sets that actually last.

Save this one: it's Foundations, Level 1. Everything else builds on it.

Are you a nail tech who wants the foundations done properly?
Follow along. It's what I teach. 🀍

Part 3 of 3. The final chapter.

This is where most clients undo everything
their nail tech just spent 2 hours doing.

Forwarding this to your clients is an act of love.
And self-preservation.

And if you need the client forms to go with this β€”
intake, consent, record card β€” link in bio. 🀍

Part 2 of 3.

This one is for the nail techs who have a client in their chair right now doing all of these things.

You know who she is. 😁

Save this. Send it. You're welcome.

And if you need the client form to go with this β€” link in bioπŸ‘‡

She blames the gel.
You blame the lamp.
The brand gets a bad review.

Nobody looks at the 10 minutes before the first
product was applied.

No dehydration.
Oils still on the plate.
Cuticle pushed back but dead skin still adhered.
Shine still on the nail.

Product applied over all of it.

The set was lifting before it cured.

Your client's lifting problem started 10 minutes
before you picked up a brush.

πŸ‘‡ Comment PREP and I'll send you the 7-step
checklist I use on every single client.

I learned to do nails in Italy.

Pronounced apex. Thick sidewalls. Structure you could
see and feel from every angle.

It felt heavy compared to what I see now.

Today everything is slim. Natural. Invisible structure.

But here's what I know after 20 years:

The techs who can do both β€” who understand why the
classic was built the way it was β€” they're the ones
whose modern sets actually last.

You can't skip the foundation and expect the finish
to hold.

The structure doesn't change.
The aesthetic does.

πŸ‘‡ Are you self-taught or did you train formally?
I'm curious where most of you started.

Most nail techs learn this the hard way.

You buy better gel. Still lifting.
You change your lamp. Still lifting.
You switch brands completely. Still lifting.

Then one day you slow down the prep.
Really slow it down.

And everything changes.

Not because you found a better product.
Because you stopped skipping the step that
actually decides how long the set lasts.

The basics aren't basic.
They're just quiet.

πŸ‘‡ Which "basic" technique changed everything
for you when you finally stopped rushing it?

Your nail tech sees your hands before you say a word.

Here's what she wishes you knew before you walked in.

Part 1 of 3 β€” Before the appointment.

Four things. Two of them affect how long your nails last.
All of them matter.

Save this. Send it to your clients.

And if you're the nail tech reading this β€”
πŸ‘‡ Comment PREP for the 7-step checklist I use
on every single client before I touch product.
