Unpopular opinion: lash clusters are NOT as harmless as people make them look. 👀

And as a lash artist, I’m probably going to ruffle a few feathers with this one.

The problem isn’t necessarily wearing clusters once in a while — it’s HOW they’re applied and how long they’re being worn.

Your natural lashes don’t all grow at the same rate. When multiple natural lashes are bonded together with a cluster and left on for days, those lashes can’t shed and grow independently. This can create pulling and tension on the natural lashes, especially as they grow at different speeds.

Add in heavy clusters, too much adhesive, improper placement, sleeping in them, and rough removal… and yes, you can absolutely end up with breakage or premature lash loss.

Properly applied professional lash extensions are different. Each extension (or handmade/professional fan) is isolated and attached to an individual natural lash, allowing your lashes to continue through their natural growth cycle independently.

So no, I’m not saying wearing clusters for one night is going to make all your lashes fall out.

But wearing DIY clusters continuously and treating them like professional extensions? That’s where I have concerns.

Your natural lashes are the foundation. Protect them. 🤍
