It’s becoming very clear to me that I’m in a stage of life where a lot of my time is owned by my kids.

And that doesn’t mean I’m giving up on who I am, my own priorities, or the things I’m passionate about. I’m lucky that I get to choose, for the most part, to be here for my kids – to help them succeed, whether that means school, sports, or simply making sure they feel supported, loved and secure.

My kids are 14 and 9. We are in the thick of it.

And I’m learning that owning and running a business all by myself while carrying the load of a busy, growing family is… a lot.

The vision I had for coco-bare when I jumped into it full throttle – excited, passionate and, quite frankly, obsessed – isn’t really attainable in this season of my life.

And I’m learning that’s okay.

Because I still love this business. I still believe in it. But I find myself being pulled in a million directions, and I know I’m not alone in that.

There’s the guilt. The frustration. The feeling that I should be doing more – while also being the mom who is there for the practices, the school stuff, the meals, the driving, the emotional support, and all the million little things that make up family life.

I’m sitting here, three weeks into a new school year, trying to figure out how to make it all happen.

And honestly? I can’t.
Not all of it. Not perfectly. Not right now.

Because I know this season won’t last forever.

Watching the kids around me grow up and leave their nests has been such a reminder that time is flying by. I don’t see my kids growing up as a doomsday scenario 😂, but I do feel the clock ticking on the amount of one-on-one time I have with them.

It is fleeting.

So for now, I’m trying to lean in.
Lean into the chaos.
Lean into this season.
And remind myself that it’s okay to step back from my business sometimes and be here for my family.

Because one day, I’ll have all the time in the world.
And I’ll make this coco-bare thing rise as high as I always dreamed it would. ✨

But for right now, I’m choosing to be here.

And I think that’s okay.
