I can’t even begin to process this trip to Kelowna. ❤️

It felt like a celebration in so many ways.

Curls are what brought me here, but somehow this trip became about so much more than hair. I got to reconnect with a dear friend, be surrounded by an incredible curl community, learn, laugh, explore, and just take in how far this career has brought me.

I’ve been a hairstylist for over 22 years, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt more inspired by what I do than I have this past year.

There’s something really special about being this far into a career and realizing… I’m still learning. Still growing. Still finding new things that light me up.

I’ve worked really hard to get here. There have been so many different chapters, so much education, change, uncertainty, growth and figuring out where I fit. And now I feel like I’m finally starting to reap the rewards of all those years while also stepping into something completely new.

Kelowna almost felt like a homecoming.

Not because I’ve been here before, but because I felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

I’m coming home feeling emotional in the very best way. Proud of where I’ve been, proud of where I am, and SO excited about where this next chapter is taking me.

22+ years behind the chair… and somehow, I feel like I’m just getting started. ❤️

Sometimes we don’t need a big change. Often, it’s just a few inches off the ends and some layers. The biggest takeaway from a first-time HSG appointment is getting to know your curls and how they react, then teaching you how to make them pop.

Fall is a great time to take off as summer ends! I loved welcoming this returning client back and sharing some new tips and tricks we’ve been applying since her first-time curl experience. It was so nice to show her just how much curly potential her hair has!

We focused on enhancing her natural curls, creating a shape that supports them, and giving her techniques she can use in her day-to-day routine. I also sent her home with a goodie bag filled with products to try as she continues learning what works best for her curls.

At HSG, the appointment doesn’t end when you walk out the door. I want you to feel comfortable reaching out with questions and know that we’re here to troubleshoot together between appointments.

Because learning your curls takes time, and you shouldn’t have to figure it all out alone. 🤎

Yesterday I got to experience CrownFest! 👑➰

What made it even better was that this event wasn’t just for stylists anyone could attend, which meant I got to bring one of my dear friends along with me! ❤️

We were absolutely spoiled with an incredible afternoon of learning about CURLS, shopping, mingling, meeting some amazing people in the curl community… and of course, I had to stop by the braid station for a cute little braid! 😍

And can we talk about the SWAG BAG?! 🙌 I’m coming home with a bag full of new products that I get to play with, learn about and, most importantly, try out on YOU!

The more I dive into the curly hair world, the more excited I get. There is always something new to learn, a new technique to try and another way I can help my curly clients understand and love their hair.

What an amazing community to be surrounded by. ❤️

Last week, I had the pleasure of working with this blonde beauty’s voluminous curls. This was just a shape-up as she starts growing the front out longer, and I got to share some techniques during her first HSG Curl Appointment that she can definitely use in her day-to-day routine.

We focused on creating a shape that supports her curls while giving her the tools to better understand and care for them at home. Learning your curls takes time, and there will definitely be some learning curves along the way but that’s completely normal!

This 11-year-old gem came in looking for help with her shape and, most importantly, LEARNING her curls. 🤎

We spent 3 hours together, starting with a customized dry cut while talking about her hair goals and what we could change in her current routine to create more volume, better definition throughout, and tame some of the frizz.

And remember… a little frizz isn’t a bad thing! Sometimes that frizz is what gives us that beautiful volume. 🙌 The goal isn’t always to eliminate it completely, but to find the right balance with the right products, techniques and routine.

Her curly hair journey has officially begun, and there will definitely be some learning curves as she starts mastering her curls at home. That’s completely normal!

Not only did I get to spruce these curls I got to do a quick grey blend for her daughter's wedding this weekend! we don't always need to spend all day correcting. She's so close to growing it out! I threw a few controlling lowlights to add depth and dipped her tips to tone out the brass. I love the outcome! Don't get me and don't get me started on her juicy curls!!!

I want to thank all my curly hair models! I had over 50 curlys sit with me while I figure out my timing, cost and what I want to offer clients! Yesterday was my last model!!! I cannot wait to reveal my new offering to you all! Thanksgiving I'll be launching my new curly services that anyone can book! Stay tuned! I'm off on another curly Adventure in Kelowna this weekend called ⛰️🛬🌐🧳

Big shout out to this lovely lady who gives the best pedicures! I highly recommend Saria :) I see her every 8 weeks and my feet always feel spoiled!!
