Wild Prairie Nails

Hey Everyone!

I hope you’re all doing well! I’ve received so many lovely messages checking in on me, so I thought it’d be nice to give you all a little update on what’s been happening!

Wow, the last few months have been quite a journey! First off, we’ve moved! Can you believe it? Adam and I have been casually searching for a piece of land for a while, but nothing really caught our eye—until now! Just before the boys started school, we stumbled upon this amazing 11-acre property just west of Bentley, and it felt like the perfect fit. We quickly got our house ready to sell, and thanks to the amazing , it was sold even before it hit the market—talk about stressful! Hunter decided he wanted to kick off the school year and hockey in Bentley, while Grayson chose to stick with his high school in Blackfalds.

Amid all that excitement, I had to see a neurological surgeon about my health. I found out that my condition was a bit worse than initially thought, and they recommended I have brain surgery right away. I was in Calgary for the surgery on October 15th, just days after we got the keys to our new place on October 9th.

Recovery has been a long road, but I’m starting to notice some positive changes—it’s hopeful! However, we’re still crossing our fingers about not needing a second surgery. Huge shoutout to Adam for being an absolute superhero! He jumped right in to handle everything—getting Grayson to school in Blackfalds, Hunter to Bentley, tackling unpacking all at once, and being literally my crutch. I’ve also been working on getting back to driving, which has been a nice step towards regaining my independence.

Unfortunately, until I'm back to 100%, I won’t be able to do nails, but I’m hopeful that won't take an eternity, and I can build a studio! But if you head on over to , you can still get a piece of me 😉

Hey everyone!

As many of you are aware, I've been facing some health challenges over the past few years. The good news is that I finally have some clarity! I've recently received a diagnosis of Chiari 1 Malformation, which explains a lot of my symptoms. This means that the base of my skull is misshapen, causing pressure on my brain and pushing it downwards. In simpler terms, my brain is falling into a hole at the top of my spine. The not-so-great news is that I won't be back at work until after my surgery and my symptoms start to improve.

I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have been so understanding of my unpredictable schedule and last-minute changes due to my health. I know it's been incredibly inconvenient on my tough days. Your support means a lot to me.
