I love Me a good PInterest inspo board as much as the next stylist, but we need to talk about the ‘Pinterest Lie’… 🤫👇
When you bring me a photo of a gorgeous, seamless blend or a bouncy blowout, I am thrilled. It gives us a starting point! But what those photos don’t show you is:

1️⃣ The Lighting: 90% of those photos are taken in ring lights, direct sunlight, or edited to make the blonde look brighter and the brunette look shinier than is physically possible in normal indoor lighting.
2️⃣ The Styling: That effortless ‘woke up like this’ wave? It took 45 minutes, a curling iron, three different texture sprays, and maybe even a few clip-in extensions for volume, and a possible pre work meltdown.
3️⃣ The Maintenance: That icy platinum blonde in the photo? She is likely in the salon every 4-5 weeks and spends $200+ on professional home care to keep it from snapping.
I never want to crush your hair dreams, but I do want to protect your hair health, your budget, and your morning routine.
