Dr. Graham loves helping with posture, headaches, scoliosis and disc issues. His goal is to get you moving well and back to the things you love.

A gentle reminder from all of us at Edge Health.
Most benefit plans reset at the end of the year, and any coverage you haven’t used doesn’t carry over. That stiff neck, though? It’s more than happy to come along into the new year with you. 😉
If you’ve been putting off taking care of yourself, this is your sign to make a little time for you. Whether it’s a nagging neck, a sore back, or you just need to slow down and recharge, we’d love to help you feel your best before the year wraps up.
We have openings next week, and we direct bill, so you don’t have to worry about the paperwork. Just come in and let us take care of you.

What actually is perimenopause?
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause. Menopause itself is one point in time: 12 months in a row without a period. Perimenopause is the stretch before it, when hormones like estrogen and progesterone start to rise and fall unevenly instead of following a steady monthly pattern.
It most often starts in your 40s, but it can begin earlier, and it can last several years.
Because hormones are fluctuating rather than simply dropping, symptoms can come and go, which is part of why it’s easy to miss. Common ones include:
• Cycles getting shorter, longer, heavier or lighter
• Hot flashes or night sweats
• Trouble falling or staying asleep
• Mood changes, irritability or anxiety
• Brain fog or forgetfulness
• Lower energy
Many people don’t connect these changes until someone names it.
Dr. Sarah Boulet, ND, works with patients through perimenopause and menopause at Edge Health. If any of this sounds familiar, she’s happy to talk it through with you.

Did you know you're taller in the morning? 📏
It's true. Most people measure about 1 cm taller when they wake up than they do by evening.
The discs between your vertebrae are full of fluid. Through the day, gravity and sitting slowly press some of it out. While you sleep, they soak it back up.
It's one reason your back can feel stiffer by the end of a long day at a desk. Getting up, stretching, and moving regularly helps.
Try it: measure yourself tonight and again tomorrow morning.

Meet Jeff, one of our Registered Massage Therapists.
Jeff holds an Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy from Georgian College and a Bachelor of Science from the European School of Physiotherapy. That background means he looks at more than tight muscles. He wants to know how you move, what set the problem off, and what will help keep it from coming back.
What that looks like in a session:
• Treatment built around your injury, your pain, or your goals
• Cupping, Graston Technique, and athletic taping when they'll help
• A clear explanation of what he finds, plus things you can do at home
Jeff is a great fit if you're recovering from an injury, managing pain that keeps returning, or want to understand what's going on in your body.
Book with Jeff through the link in our bio, or call 705-503-6603.

It's that time of year. The leaves are beautiful until they're all over the lawn. 🍂
Raking is one of the most common reasons people come to see us in the fall. All that twisting and reaching on one side adds up quickly. Three small habits make a big difference:
Warm up first. A five-minute walk gets your muscles ready.
Switch sides often. Swap your lead hand every few minutes.
Bend your knees. Lift those bags with your legs, not your back.
Take breaks, too. The leaves aren't going anywhere.
And if your back is already telling you it overdid it, we're here to help.
Save this for your next yard day, and share it with someone who always does the raking. 💚

Sore shoulders by mid-afternoon? Your desk setup might be part of it. 💻
Three quick things to check today:
Screen at eye level, with the top of the monitor at or just below your eyes.
Elbows by your sides, bent to about 90 degrees, shoulders relaxed.
Feet flat on the floor, knees level with your hips, back supported.
Small changes add up, and so does getting up to move every half hour or so.
If the ache isn't going away, we can take a look. Call 705-503-6603 or book through the link in our bio.

What does an osteopath actually do during an osteopathy appointment?
If your neck feels stiff when you turn your head, or your lower back has been bothering you when you get up from sitting. Ivan begins by asking about what you’re feeling, when you notice it, and how it’s affecting your day.
Then he looks at how you move. The area that hurts matters, but it may not be the only area he assesses. For example, with a neck concern, he might also look at movement through your shoulders and upper back. What he finds helps guide the hands-on techniques he discusses with you.
There isn’t one set treatment that everyone receives. The appointment is shaped by your concerns, the assessment, and what you’re comfortable with. Ivan will explain what he’s doing along the way, so you can ask questions and understand the approach.
Ivan provides osteopathic manual therapy at Edge Health on Monday and Thursday afternoons, and Wednesday and Friday mornings.
