📌 Key details:

✅Ballot application window: Wednesday, 9 September at 10:00 SAST to Tuesday, 22 September 2026 at 16:30 SAST

✅Who can apply: South African, Rest of Africa and International runners who have not yet secured an entry

✅Application fee: A non-refundable R10 tokenisation fee is payable when submitting your application

✅No need to rush: The ballot application process is not first-come, first-served, and applying early does not give you an advantage

The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) takes pleasure in announcing that entries for the 2027 edition of the Comrades Marathon will open on Tuesday 25 August 2026, and will take place in three stages. This follows the official launch of the 2027 race on Wednesday 19 August, where the official campaign for the centenary edition of the race, The Greatest Story Ever Run, and a special 100th edition race logo, were unveiled.
