High end, sustainable and contemporary hairdressing. Brecht Van Dam is a Toni&guy trained hairdresser, educated in London and Paris.
He began his career in Hasselt, the capital of the province Limburg in Flanders, Belgium. Growing up in a Belgian expat family himself, he moved to Brussels because he felt more at home in an international environment. With his keen attention to detail and humanistic outlook he quickly understood that he could contribute to the community by creating a sustainable hairsalon/barbershop. Brecht believes that using high quality haircare products and colouring is essential. Therefore, he became a sustainable beauty partner of the Italian family brand Davines, a brand that promotes sustainability and transparency in its products and processes. At Brecht van Dam Salon we believe that the wellbeing of people is the most sustainable way to run a business. Therefore, we heavily invest in personal and professional growth of our staff to be able to provide our clients with educated technical knowledge combined with personal care. Vivienne Westwood — Paris Fashion Week.
A milestone I will never forget.
To work backstage on a Vivienne Westwood show — a house born from rebellion, individuality and the belief that style can challenge the world around us — feels deeply connected to everything I have always loved about hair.
For me personally, this represents years of learning, practising, travelling and deliberately stepping beyond the comfort of the salon into fashion and session work.
But this journey was never meant to exist separately from Brecht Van Dam Salon.
Everything I learn backstage — the speed, precision, styling, collaboration and ability to understand a creative vision — comes back with me to Brussels.
It influences how we work.
It challenges our team to keep learning.
It raises the standard of what we want to offer our clients.
And I’m proud that an independent salon in Brussels can have one foot in everyday life and the other backstage at Paris Fashion Week.

A new chapter, together.
A special moment at Brecht Van Dam Salon: the first time our new team — Minnie, Courtney, Tetiana and Victoria — is all together.
And what better way to mark it than by learning together?
We welcomed Jasna from Davines Netherlands for a team training on seasonal hair loss, scalp health and how we can better guide our clients through periods of increased shedding.
Because building a strong team isn’t only about bringing talented people together. It’s about continuing to learn, sharing knowledge and becoming better at what we do — together.
