Levels Of You
From here, the Hair Restoration Protocol was born and is now helping people across numerous different locations in both Queensland and NSW, Australia.
Medically lead non-invasive hair restoration without the pills, pain or downtime (note we do not offer PRP or hair transplants).
'Everyone has new levels of confidence they can get to, Levels Of You helps them get there'. After spending nearly half a decade as the Global Medical Director of one of the world's large cosmetic companies with over 200 clinics worldwide, Dr Hopkirk lost his hair and
Most people think laser hair growth technology was designed specifically for hair loss.
It wasn’t.
Back in the 1960s, researcher Endre Mester was investigating whether low-powered lasers could help treat cancer in mice. But instead of curing the implanted tumours, he noticed something completely unexpected…
The mice exposed to the laser grew hair faster than the control group.
That accidental observation would go on to become the foundation of Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and decades of research into light-based hair restoration.
Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs in medicine aren’t discovered by finding what you’re looking for.
They’re discovered by noticing what nobody expected.

Everyone is talking about the new hair loss ingredient VDPHL01… but why?
It’s not necessarily because it’s more powerful than oral minoxidil.
It’s because the drug was designed differently.
Traditional oral minoxidil creates a spike in drug levels after you take it, followed by a gradual decline throughout the day.
VDPHL01 uses an extended-release formulation that aims to deliver minoxidil more steadily over time.
The theory?
📌 More consistent drug exposure
📌 Potentially similar or better hair growth
📌 Potentially fewer side effects by avoiding high peak concentrations
This is why some people are already calling it “Minoxidil 2.0.”
The important caveat: we still need longer-term data and peer-reviewed publications before we know whether these theoretical advantages translate into real-world benefits.

Male pattern hair loss transformation with HRP™
This patient presented with significant hair loss due to multiple contributing factors, including underlying androgenetic alopecia. Given the severity of his hair loss, we expected his recovery would take time.
Just six months into a customised HRP™ protocol tailored to his diagnosis, medical history and treatment goals, he has achieved impressive improvements in hair density, thickness and overall hair quality.
The HRP™ is a doctor-led, personalised treatment protocol designed to address the underlying causes of hair loss rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Ongoing follow-up and long-term management are just as important as the initial treatment itself.
The HRP™ may be suitable for:
• Male and female pattern hair loss
• Stress-related hair loss
• Post-viral hair loss (including COVID-19)
• Hair loss associated with PCOS or menopause
• Postpartum hair loss
• Chemotherapy-related hair loss
To learn whether the HRP™ is right for you, book an introductory online consultation via the link in our bio.

Most people assume laser hair removal can only do one thing:
Remove hair.
But under certain circumstances, the opposite can happen.
It’s called Paradoxical Hypertrichosis a rare but recognised phenomenon where laser treatment stimulates additional hair growth instead of reducing it.
In this short, I explain how this happened to me personally and why treatment settings matter.
One of the leading theories is that when energy levels are too low to permanently damage the hair follicle, the light may instead provide a stimulatory effect to the follicle and surrounding tissue.
Ironically, this is one of the reasons low-level light therapies are being investigated and used for hair growth in completely different settings.
The same technology can produce very different outcomes depending on wavelength, energy delivery, treatment parameters, and the biological target.
Medicine is rarely as simple as “laser equals hair removal.”
Sometimes the biology has other plans.

PP405 results just LEAKED from a conference in Denver 👀
Real before and after images are now circulating and they’re showing something we haven’t seen before in hair loss treatment…
👉 Hair regrowth from follicles that were previously thought to be inactive
This is not your typical approach to hair loss.
PP405 is targeting follicular stem cells, aiming to reactivate growth rather than just slow down loss.
But here’s where it gets interesting…
Are we looking at a genuine breakthrough or early stage data being overhyped?
In this video, I break down what’s real, what’s still unknown, and what this could actually mean for the future of hair restoration.

Hi Dr Jonathan here,
Over the past few months, I've received countless questions about two emerging hair loss treatments that are generating significant excitement: VDPHL01 and PP405.
Some believe they could become the biggest advancement in hair restoration since Minoxidil and Finasteride. Others remain sceptical and want to see more data.
To help separate the hype from the science, I recently hosted a livestream exploring what we currently know about these treatments, where the evidence stands today, and what they could mean for the future of hair restoration.
In the discussion, I cover:
• What VDPHL01 and PP405 actually are
• How they work and how they differ from existing treatments
• Which currently has the stronger scientific evidence
• Which is more likely to gain FDA approval
• Whether it makes sense to wait for these treatments or act now
• Which treatment I believe has the bigger long-term future
We also dive into topics such as stem cell activation, dormant follicles, pattern hair loss, hair transplantation, regenerative medicine, and some of the common misconceptions surrounding emerging hair loss therapies.
If you've been following the latest developments in hair restoration, or wondering whether these treatments could one day help regrow thinning or balding areas, I think you'll find the discussion valuable.
Watch the recording here:

I'd love to hear your thoughts after watching. Which treatment do you think has the bigger future: VDPHL01 or PP405?
Kind regards,
Dr Jonathan Hopkirk

Not all hair loss shampoos are created equal.
🧴 Nizoral® 2% (Ketoconazole) – The strongest evidence of the three. Studies suggest ketoconazole may improve hair density and hair shaft diameter while helping reduce scalp inflammation.
☕ Alpecin® (Caffeine) – Laboratory and clinical studies suggest caffeine may help support hair growth and reduce shedding by counteracting some of the effects of DHT on the follicle.
🌿 Nioxin Hair Fall Defence (Sandalore™️) – Sandalore activates receptors within the hair follicle that may help prolong the hair growth phase, although more clinical research is needed.
A shampoo alone is rarely enough to reverse established pattern hair loss, but choosing one with evidence-backed ingredients can be a useful part of a broader hair restoration plan such as our HRP™️ (Hair Restoration Protocol).
